I'm a sucker for the Griffey base cards for Stadium Club and Ultra. I'd like to complete the entire run of TSC and Ultra GM's in the next few years.
I was about to type the same thing except I had never seen that '97 SC before. Congrats, @NGS428, you just sold a PSA 10 of that card at some point in the near future. Just a beautiful card. I've been on the Ultra GM train for a while but I obviously need to start looking closer at the SC, too. I'm also a big fan of the Pinnacle Trophy Collection or whatever they called the dufex cards from year-to-year.
This is one of my favorites in my collection. If I'm not mistaken there are 100 of these.
That Glavine is probably the zenith of modern retro reprint autos for me. A beautiful rendition of a classic design with a nice signature tastefully contained in the name box. That's about as nice as they get from the ones I've seen.
Got lucky and grabbed this guy for my Mantle run which completes the 1950’s for me. Had a 58 and 59 but had moved them a year or two ago so had to replace them - picked up the 58 last week and hope this one looks as good in hand as the 58.

Arthur,
I'm not sure about the gloss, I'm going to have to look at them a bit more closely. I have a bunch of proofs, I'm going to dig them out this week and do some scanning. These are the only 2 1979 Dorsett's I have, I have 5 or 6 1979 Staubach's and 7 1978 Staubach's, it's fun to see the progression when they are all side by side.

I've always been a fan of Dorsett. He was such a class act. His rookie was the first vintage football card I ever had. I also have fond memories of being in college and toasting my roommate in Madden '97 with the '79 Cowboys and Dorsett while he went air with one of the 70s Steelers teams and Lynn Swann. We must have played a hundred games with those two teams. Dorsett was nasty.
Should have this Kiner in hand before the end of the week, to add to a bulk sub down the road.

It's a great feeling when you can finally cross off the number 1 card on your want list! This 1977 Mexican Roger Staubach arrived today, finally found a PSA 7 I was happy with, took 3 years but I'm glad to have it. The snow is much more pronounced in the scan, it's almost unnoticeable in hand.
This is for Arthur, he called me out on my "shiny shame" last week, for not sharing my modern pickups. 1998 Stadium Club One of a Kind Deion Sanders. I really do love the 90's parallels. Sorry for the ugly scan.

Nice, Abe. Ironically I was shopping for some '97 Stadium Club today. It's not as overwhelming as I thought it was going to be. I don't think it really got out of control until the 2000s.
That Staubach is awesome. I have to ask, what now resides in the #1 wantlist spot?

Thanks guys!
I'm a big fan of the early Stadium Club parallels, the first day, one of a kind, members only, division winner, etc. The photography was always great.
The new #1 is a bit of a tie, two very tough to find cards where the condition doesn't matter to me at all, just want to find them, 1968 Topps Team Test Cowboys and Staubach early 70's Sports Illustrated Promo. Again, those are tough finds so there are lots of other things that I'm sure I'll end up with before I find one or both of those.

I posted this in the hockey thread earlier in the week when I won the auction, but this just came in the mail today. I knocked one of my top 5 must have Roy cards off my list this week, and it's a pop 1 to boot. I've been chasing this card for years, but lost out the last two times I saw it on eBay ungraded. Ecstatic to add this to my collection.

I love the 1991 and 1992 SC sets. Just perfect in their simplicity -- full-bleed photos with high gloss and little nonsense getting in the way. If time weren't a factor I would be working on PSA 10 sets of them, along with about 10 other sets. I need to hire someone just to do the logistics on all the sets I want to collect.
The Donald arrived in Orlando this morning and I hooked up with my mailman Mike to pick him up!
In September last year I first acquired a Donald Trump rookie card in a PSA 10 and I said to myself what an incredible item it would be to have a signed copy. I liked the card so much I bought two more copies and gave one to my twin Bill for Christmas. Copies have moved up over 200% which is nice.
Friday night I about lost it when I saw this listed on eBay. I threw in two offers and both were auto declined and then I threw in one that was much more serious. No response all weekend and it expired. About two hours later while doing my early Sunday night ritual of cooking and drinking my phone went off and the seller said his internet was out and didn’t see the offer and would have accepted it. He changed the price to a BIN and I looked at my phone for a few minutes and said Dave what are you waiting for???? Snagged it and paid.
Love him or hate him this is an incredible item and a full signature on his rookie card in the fitting color of gold. No red flip examples and surely very few of these exist.
One of the primary reasons I buy multiples of cards that I already have in the same grade is to make sure I have the best eye appeal I can find. This card is beautiful. My first copy in a PSA 9 was the last time I upgraded my 1982 Wrestling All Stars Series A set and that was just over a year and a half ago. I will need to study both and see which I like better for inclusion in my #1 set but very pleased none the less with this copy.
Love this Griffey card. Great depth of field on the photograph.
Ya know Doug?
When both Fleer Ultra and Stadium Club came out with the full bleed cards in 1992 - I thought it was mind altering for me with respect to the quality of action shots. UD also got in the game with Ioos I believe?
I'm planning to start something new in my appreciation of what I already have.
It's called "Loose Leaf Binder Thursday"
Every Thursday - I'll be taking the time to go thru a set - reviewing backs of cards, viewing portraits and action shots and just trying to appreciate what I already have.
Right now? This stuff just sits and waits.
And last - I can't believe how much I have been procrastinating in finishing up going thru boxes and deciding what's going on the display shelf?
I made a general hockey buy this month. Something that doesn't fit one of my sets, runs or player collections. I saw one of these a year or so ago and though it would be a cool add one day. Anytime you get a card with all 3 of the main GOAT candidates in a sport that's pretty cool. Now I just need to keep an eye out for one of the quad cards that has Mario on it as well.

One thing for sure - it looks like on both - the lower left corner is the one keeping the cards from being a 10?
The odds of a copy ever grading a PSA 10 are extremely low. The Chrusher is the back card in many of the sealed sets and so corner wear is hard to completely avoid. It also has loads of print issues. The lower left corner looks worse in scans on both but is just barely touched. Both copies are about as good as one can hope for. It took me seven years to add a PSA 9 to my set.

Beautiful cards everyone!!
Just received this today. A 1/1 Jordan. A neat card design with sharp colors. I like the image of Jordan bearing down and driving.
Between graduations and work I haven't taken much time to scan, caught up a bit today. Picked up a few Cowboys upgrades
1979 Topps football is my favorite set and I love anything from Topps Vault, was glad to add this set of proofs from a board member
Lately I haven't been able to resist a cheap Joe Namath or Walter Payton (The 1972 Namath is mislabeled)
I had been waiting to find a PSA 8 of this card, but decided this PSA 7 would be fine

Great card and I remember when it was the "in" thing "not" to peel. Looks as good as a 10 to me.
Picked up another one of these last weekend. My goal is 50 of them in PSA 10 by year's end and I'm half way there.
