Another forum I'm on gives the city and state of the members. Knowing that gives an indication of when you post and if any members live close. For example, you can be as detailed as you wish from:

I live on a ridge in the hills of Monterey CA. It's my retirement home after working 30 years in Silicon Valley, 60 miles north.
The circled area is world famous Laguna Seca Raceway. I rode superbikes there for 20+ years. Today I just drive some fun cars. I can't deal with high speed bike crashes anymore.
