a lot going on with this one. Has die crack a few thumb prints and a very shallow mint mark. Not a bad looking coin but the more you look the more you see. Good & bad. I will say AU55

    Nice pictures

This is a coin that really needs to be seen in hand! I'm torn between 62 + 63 from the Pics so I will go with 62+!

    Yeah, I kind of agree.
My thoughts were a 62/62+ that got bumped to 3 because of slightly PL surfaces.

    Nice coin!

Seems about right for coins graded 2 years ago, which this was. (Or OGH tough dates) Crack and send it right now, 64. The no CAC sticker on a PLUS coin is further proof it was weak even back then. You can be sure a 30K coin was sent to CAC.

I was going to say 63, but I guess I was way off. I don't fully understand the CAC game and it seems to me that not every 30k coin would get sent to CAC.

If the close up pictures are accurate...no way I'm seeing that as a 65+!

Ouch, from the photos that is crazy - I have seen better 62s. Bury the buyer at a 65 price IMO.

I wish this had gone a bit longer. I would have called it a 65. If it did not pass CAC, my guess as to the reason would be due to what looks like dip residue from an improper rinse. I don't think the grade held it back from CAC.

Well...late to the game... I thought 64 when looking at it... Kind of surprised at 65+.... Cheers, RickO

Buy the best coin you can afford to have reconsidered, cracked, sent off, retried, sent to the sticky place, be disappointed with, but pay good money for that you will eventually lose.

    or something like that.

Not even close IMO, that might have nice toning but the deep and more numerous marks are much worse than the coin in the OP. The strike is inferior as well.

Pictures on iPhone washed out a bit, but I looked at this coin and even under 10x mag clean cheek, it is a true PL. The weakness IMO is that even with the washout I think it has been dipped; few field marks & some of the "scratches" are on holder.

I had the coin as a 65 upon opening the thread. I'm not a good enough grader of the series to attempt the + game. That said, the mottled look (typical of a dipped and just started to re-tone coin?) gives me a similar indifferent feeling on this one as well, I'm sorry to say...and I'd rather buy that 62. Take care...Mike
