They can be found nice.
Fun trip to the local antique mall
I recently picked up a nice starter set of 200+ 1971 OPC, so was keeping my eyes open for any more in my area. I walked into the local antique mall and lo and behold there were 7 HOFers tucked in the corner of a showcase. 6 were low numbers and all 6 were priced too high for raw (even considering how tough these are to find). The guy would not haggle, but oh well.
The 7th card you may ask? Well...

Granted, there is a light crease in the upper left corner. Automatic PSA 3 tops, I assume. No matter, if low numbered '71 OPCs are maybe 10% the print run of '71 Topps, this one (series 5 of 6) is a fraction of that.
No need to haggle, I think you'll agree.
*Roughly $18.50 for my American friends

This might motivate me to track down all 51 HOFers.
Re: Vintage case rips?

I pretty much never participated in rips but I do have this stack of mini's - perhaps they needed more participants to finish the box?
It has on it FASC - 8-14; I'm guessing 2014? Have no idea what I paid for the packs?

@PeakRaritiesI don’t remember exactly what Dan said but instead of using the search here (which leaves a bit to be desired) he’s using ChatGPT.
Yes, the internal forum search feature is remarkably inefficient. Better results are found by simply typing (______Inser topic here____ collectors universe forum) into the Google search bar, but going a step further, use the advanced search-
https://www.google.com/advanced_search
Here, you enter the domain "https://forums.collectors.com" where it says "site or domain" in the second section, then use the first section to narrow results using keywords or phrases. As an example, this link is the results of an advanced search for "artificial toning"
Re: The Collaborative "Virtual 7070" Type Set Project
Good morning, and welcome to February 3rd.
Today our type will be the Liberty Seated Half Dime Arrows (1853-55).
Again, I lack a problem-free example of this type in my current collection, so I'm falling back on my "holey" type set.
Since we have @winesteven to post the top-tier stuff, somebody has to post the bottom end, right? ![]()
Here goes. Hide your eyes if you're frightened of problem coins!
Not only does my holey collection have scary stuff, it also has crappy photographs. You can tell the stuff I shot with my phone. Maybe one day I will get decent photos of all the holeys, because... umm...
... just because. We know everybody wants to look at 'em, right? LOL

OK, enough of that.
Here at least is an acceptable example of the type that I used to own. Nothing earthshaking, but decent enough.
