and my heart broke being a lover of the series. Why no respect for Tom? A gorgeous MS set of Jeffies up until 81, marked $225 but talked down to $140 as I guess I am the only person who wants them. Aw, the 39-D, awwwww........

I interpreted this to mean they were sitting at some show for sale by OP...they did not sell...something like that.

I have never been able to buy such sets from my local BMs since I figured out they put those sets together themselves. Much the same way they build up their coin rolls, I don't buy either. Stuff comes in all the time and they inventory it all according to denomonations. But they do look at the coins and the better coins either make it to the singles 2x2 catalog, placed in albums or the last resort, into plastic coin rolls.
I have been in the shop when this stuff comes in and seldom have I ever got the chance to buy before owner has, as they say, inventoried the stuff. And they'll say, there are a couple of albums in the case, would you like to look at those? No! Thinking, are you kidding? These shop owners aren't stupid enough to let high grade coins slip through their fingers at rediculous prices. They're sent to a TGS and to an auction venue.
Let's us know of any cherrypicks and I know someone who's in with NGC who could probably get half those coins in 66 and 67 holders no matter what the coins look like.

Seriously? That would be too bad. They are pretty! A lot more than 35% or whatever of Ag going on obviously - I'd think a Jeff collector, or a new collector or YN especially would flip out over such a nice collection! I like it!
