My first use of VERDI-GONE (tm)

I soaked the store card for one hour with just enough VERDI-GONE (tm) to cover it. The gunk on the card turned to a wet, sticky substance. I then took it and rinsed it with hot tap water out of the spray nozzle at the sink. It rinsed all the gunk right off.

<< <i>It's hard to tell because the before and after shots were clearly taken in different lighting conditions, but the "after" pictures have a cleaned look to them. Is that just the images playing tricks, or did the surfaces really change this much? >>
Of course the surfaces will look different when all the dirt and gunk is gone.
BTW, all my copper submissions to NGC got bodybagged and I am pissed as hell as they were great looking coins. Are they just killing copper for kicks?

In the second set of images, I am seeing a blue and purple surface, which is disturbing to me.

I agree completely

PS: Did it really turn purple/blue or is that your pics. There is still some verdigris in the
deep recesses. Are you giving it another bath?
<< <i>I think we've all gotten a little education here. Thanks for the pics. >>
I agree!

The soak should be for an hour or two max.
This is a very gentle substance.

What are your thoughts on the results? I've heard everyone elses.
<< <i>Ksteelheader,
What are your thoughts on the results? I've heard everyone elses. >>
I don't like the results.
I originally did not state my view because I didn't want to have any influence on what anyone else thought.
Check out my current listings: https://ebay.com/sch/khunt/m.html?_ipg=200&_sop=12&_rdc=1
I sent 3 bottles to a top tier TPG ( yes, they puchased them ) and I'll await results from an independant tester .
<< <i>Ken, so on my monitor it looks like a chocolate brown coin with verdigris became a green and blue coin without verdigris...is that about right? >>
Yer right on.
<< <i>Verdigone DID NOT do that to that coin. PERIOD. >>
It most certainly did.
EDIT. I will retract my second statement. I am at a loss as to why this happened. No accusations and my apologies are given.
Ken, now please try some Blue Ribbon on the coin, and post another set of pics. THANK YOU
The background color of the photo can change the appearance of color in copper coins greatly. Both sets of photos look like the exact same background however.
<< <i>about 40 bottles have sold so far, why is yours the only one to do this? Whats the motive here? Why destroy a coin on purpose and then blame the results on the product? WHAT IS THE MOTIVE?? >>
I did not destroy the coin on purpose. Your product did that.
Motive? Maybe to educate people on the results of using a product as recommended.

<< <i>it would be good if more people could post pictures of copper before/after use of the product. Anyone else got some? >>
Marty has a medal, but he is at work now.
<< <i>Would it be possible that there was something (Blue Ribbon, Dellers, etc) covering up the apparent cleaning and the Verdi-Gone stripped that off, uncovering the cleaned surfaces?
-Paul >>
There was nothing on the coin before soaking.
My guess is that one might try soaking a coin for 5-10 minutes before doing it for an hour. I also intend to use distilled water as a rinse as was recommended.

<< <i>FWIW, on a previous thread ArizonaJack said that he had soaked coins for a day or two. In that same thread CU members posted before and after pics with positive results. >>

<< <i>Hmmmm...seller of verdigris remover, also sells lotsa copper coins... hmmmm. >>
Jack is only making a couple bucks per bottle. He's actually doing a service to those who want to conserve copper and making a few bucks here and there.
I have bought 2 bottles from the "manufacturer" and used it with good results. The OP results are NOT typical but could happen.
Give the product a try if you have copper with verdigris, start out with a 1 hour soak on a cheap wheatie - you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Go find some coins on my site that look like the op's coins, then assume whatever you want
LOL. I am at work and cannot reply until tonight, but I do realise this thread will be a bam the seller thread, no biggie. I did want to come back and apologise the Ken again, I was just completely shocked at his results. I am sure this was an anomoly, as so many have been sold, I do await other results from others.
I stand by the product until I can see that it does indeed damage coins, then I will no longer sell it. It is designed to improve damaged coins, nothing more. If it does not work, I want no part of it.

I am wondering the same thing. The large cent I posted is very typical of the results I have seen.
