<< <i>Sounds like this guy may have owed money to some people. How do you make sure that this is not going to go to the creditors? Not implying the creditors should not be paid but I can only assume that is not where most of you wish the donation to go to. >>
There is a forum member, who is an attorney licensed in CO, who has volunteered to assist the family. He told me that he believes that memorial fund money can be kept out of the overall estate, so long as it is set up to benefit the family.

Thanks for responding Jeremy. We are working on something to start at the beginning of the year. The proceeds will do directly to help the family with needs for their daily lives.
More information will be out soon.

Just so I'm clear, - the memorial fund and the auction are two separate entities, correct?

You are a first class guy David. I know this forum held a lot of meaning for Cameron and I am sure he would be touched by this.

<< <i>I would leave that for his family to decide. Hopefully there isn't too much outstanding debt or money owed to others. >>

My Lord! That would certainly explain some things, if it is true. I still only wish he had sought help before things got out of control.
<< <i>Me too. I am going to be homeless because of this. >>
Is there anything the forum can collectively do to help?

Holy crap! If true, how did he get that much credit, and how could he possibly squander that much in a short amount of time?

Really?

believe me,its true. its all in HIS computer e-mails to validate. I trusted Cam with my life savings.....even my 6 year olds.-all gone plus myriads of other people who have e-mailed/in boxed me from chat boards all over the internet. sad shocked and hurt and broke now.
I will be out from where I live very soon and I too have small children. This is no joke and the facts will no doubt come out because there are many coin dealers and colloectors who have been damaged by whatever was going on in his secret life.....sad

Thanks, Lane. I was asking because it seems like the proceeds from the auction could be construed as income unless donated to the memorial fund. And, at least in this state, one spouse is liable for the debts of the other.
