Voluntarily Going Down the Rabbit Hole of Coin Collecting

I thought it might be interesting to start a thread where we show each other the odd and unusual items we collect that are not necessarily main stream. Kind of off the beaten path. Many years ago I discovered Library of Coins issued a Kennedy half album before the makers of this album even knew what the Kennedy half would… -

Re: Jerry Buss died
<< <i> He owned the L.A. Kings too. From 79 to 88. And 88 is when Gretzky came to town for L.A. Dr. Buss did a lot for sports in that town. >> He did a lot more than that. Thanks to Buss, the Lakers, and the NBA became a "big ticket item" due to his purchasing of player contracts, and more importantly, helping make them… -
Cincinnati Numsimatic Association (CNA) Coin Show report
I attended the Cincinnati Numismatic Association show this year and I have to say it seemed like an incredible success and strong improvement from last year (it just keeps growing!). I was able to squeeze in a rushed 60-75min sprint session on Friday and another 3 hour session at more leisure pacing Saturday with my son.… -
Re: Based on only these images and a 3-day return, would you even consider buying this 1893-S dollar?

At the time, a decent one was worth $1,100. Now they are over $3,000. Even if it’s nice, it can go bad on you in the holder if it’s… -
Want to buy 1994 Score Gold Rush complete set
This was one of my favorite insert sets when I first started collecting in late 1993-94. As you guys already know, I recently picked up a 1995 Score Platinum set and I would like very much to get the 1994 Score Gold Rush set to go with it. If you also have the Gold Rush R/T set that'd be especially welcome. -

Re: US Mint price gouging?
It should be as it was in 1975-6. The coins were put into circulation and every citizen got to see and use them. These roll and bag sales undermine the intention of the legislation which authorized the coins. It’s supposed to be a national celebration, not an orgy of greed for the mint. The secondary market will respond.…
