Re: How important are back card scans for you ?
Hi Rick, I am a satisfied customer too! I really like seeing the front and the back of the card mostly to ensure legitimacy. The scammers and the photo-shoppers work pretty hard to take our money and I am deathly afraid of flips that are altered / re-sealed. The back of the card gives me another area to look at to make… -
Re: 1922 no D wheat penny SOLD.
Man, scammers make it hard for us honest people who just need some extra cash don't they? Guess I should not have stated "no knowledge" I mean, I can read afterall! Lol. I've learned a lot recently just from this site alone. I need to do some thinking and weighing out the pros and cons of sending it before money changes… -
Re: Bruingirl at it again
What panel is it supposed to be in? His has Henderson in the top panel and there is another seller that also has a rack with him in the top one. Also, are there cards that never show up on the top of the rack? As far as stopping him, I don't think ebay cares much about scammers, whether they are buyers or sellers. I've… -
Re: 1901-S Barber Quarter: Opinions...counterfeit slab on eBay?
A lousy picture is often one of the ways that scammer uses to trick buyers. Given that this is a $4,000 coin, those are terrible pictures because it overemphasizes the slab and shows you very little about the coin, which is what a collector is really buying. They didn't even post a picture of the reverse of the coin right… -
Re: Sold
I like to look at the ebay offerings on the BST board. I'm just a lurker here and a very part time ebay user. The last time I sold coins on ebay I promoted my auctions here because I thought it would add a certain bit of legitimately to them. If I were a scammer a cheat or a thief this is the last group of people I would… -

Re: What is the most efficient and safest way to distribute counterfeit slabs?
over in the currency forum, it was pointed out that the scammers in china are getting smarter. they used normal-sounding usernames & usa item locations. the auctions mentioned had a lot of people taking the bait, and the final sales tally was near $6000. if all the slab counterfeiters followed suit, a lot of people would… -
Re: Mind if I join you?

<< <i>Looks Allgood to me. >> Well, it took four posts. If I hadn't been out working in the yard it would have only taken one. If you don't know the meaning or the history of that saying, you're in for a real eye opener. Just do a quick search on the Savanna Scammer, pjd1966. We're all quite familiar with the saying, and… -
Re: opinions....
You have to admire the creativity of the scammers. 1)First list the card and have a high bidder who doesn't pay. No feedback exchanged either way. 2)Then relist it mentioning the guy who didn't pay, and it sells to the new guy. Glorious feedback both ways. 3)Then the new guy lists it mentioning his recent wonderful… -
Re: 53 Topps Satchell Paige ebay auction /need 53's?
there's probably a good chance you're a legit seller but private id's are scary. We had a recent thread dedicated to a seller who used PIDs for all his auctions and he turned out to be a scammer. BTW, VCP tracks all sales on ebay with links to the bids so whether it's private or not, the sale will be tracked. But, since…
