Re: POLL: How much fraud is there on Ebay?
Very little, I would say. The problem is in the perception. Every time the Savannah Scammer or some d00d in China posts an auction, a new thread gets created here. But for each of those, there are thousands upon thousands of listings from reputable dealers, regular sellers, and just plain collectors unloading some extras.… -
Re: Russ, Marty, hurry, a two headed Kennedy to fight over
Somebody asked a question to see the edge, and the seller posted a picture of the edge to show that it's not two coins cut in half and glued together. Except that's not the way they make trick coins! I sent the seller a question pointing out how it was made and where the seam was. He ignored my question, but posted the one… -
Re: AU/BU Stone Mountain with Buy it Now price 455?
I have been shopping for a Proof British gold coin, that is worth up to $2,000, on the Internet. I have run into price quotes that were double and triple that amount. Those numbers might seem silly to the collector who has done some research, but perhaps not to an uninformed person who is dazzled by the gold. All it takes… -
Re: Post deleted
New accounts or new "business" accounts may face these restrictions for a few deliveries. When the product you are selling shows up delivered they will release the funds...you may have to be proactive and make the call to remind them. It's a safety net they put in place to avoid scammers taking off with the funds without… -
Re: Warning to ebay sellers
If you received the message from a completely different account, then it’s a known scam and not related to the person that bought the item. The original buyer is almost certainly legitimate. There are a bunch of people that track sold items-particularly expensive ones (like gold) and then send a message pretending they… -
Re: Looks like someone is going to go to jail soon...
Ockhamsrazor, Did you ever get word from the police on the scammer on EBAY that it seems we both were involved with? There was a lady selling the items for some guy using only the VCP scans. I think the seller is still active so is the answer "NO"? And actually I need to look at VCP to make sure the card prices were not… -
Re: Pack forger alert!!!!!!
The sad part is that most of the buyers of these packs either a) keep them "sealed" and never learn the harsh truth that the pack is garbage or b) sell the pack to another unsuspecting buyer. These scammers/sellers are counting on one or the other, though every now and then a collector will open a pack and leave a well… -
Re: Another eBay scam
Unfortunately, eBay policies are full of loop holes that scammers use for their advantage. If you buy eBay enough, you need to expect some bad deals. You just hope it is not bad. The worst I have been burnt is $125. If you have high blood pressure, I would suggest just move on and consider a lesson learn. If you are like… -

Re: "CLOSED"...a new sheriff in town.
I think the BST can use this help in keeping it safe for all the users there. Let's stay focus when you have a board that can cost you or some one else $$$ big $$$ in some cases that would help a lot. But what do we have if we cant out a person that wrong some one on the BST if they are scammers I don't get it. We will see…
