Re: What was the sports forum like when you first joined?
We had scammers on here every now and then. All of them got caught in their web of lies. Thinking one was resealing and got caught buying wrappers. It was when Or before Steve started his business. We had a lady on here given away great gifts. Something happened with her but can’t remember. She was outed as a man or we… -
Re: 1990 "No S" proof set, the cent is NOT a proof! Please report!
The seller also replied to me and said - I’m putting this mildly - he’d received some extremely rude messages. If anyone here did that, please stop. And keep in mind, not all sellers with such listings are dishonest/scammers, etc. Over the years, in addition to making a very large number of reports to EBay, I’ve often… -
Re: So Let's Bust This Pack, 1983 Michigan Test Baseball Pack!!!!! See Down Thread! Lets Bust This!
select the 14 day return policy and elect "buyer pays return shipping". let's face it. the "does not accept returns" election is merely a joke. i've found that just limiting the returns, that can happen anyway, to the smallest window possible and the fact that the buyer now has to pay to get the item back coupled that most… -
Re: 1917 Standing Liberty quarter, upgrade?
Compare with this one, which received an MS-65 more than 20 years ago. The OP has dull luster from dipping, marks on the knee and shin and a distracting spot on the "T" in "STATES" on the reverse. It's maxed out a MS-63, unless you are going to send it to "Uncle Elmer's Grading Service" who slabs coins for Internet… -
Re: Just Got off the Phone with Paypal Customer Service..
Holdback of funds until proof of delivery is SOP for all sellers with less than 100 feedback as a seller. This means paypal won't loose taking chances with new sellers. Buyers from such sellers should feel safe buying from these sellers. Face it, when paypal gets taken to the cleaners by a scammer, they just pass the loss… -
Re: If the seller wasn't honest in saying the bar is silver clad,
<< <i>There is no legitimate reason for these bars. Either they're being sold to gullible people as genuine 10 ounce silver bars, or they're being sold to people who understand they're fake and who want to sell them to gullible people as genuine 10 ounce silver bars. >> Absolutely agree. At least his auction do indicate… -
Re: factory sealed?

It has all the standard Red Flags of scammers: 1. 1879 Feedback with 87.5% Positives, Only 16 total Feedbacks in 12 months 2. Bad Grammar (yes, that does matter) 3. Obnoxious fonts/colors and non-working photos 4. Overexplains the history of the set's star players (typical distraction technique) 5. The infamous "God Bless"… -
Re: Anyone want to guess the grade of these 1928 Golf cards? Grades are in!!
All my churchmans, Hignetts etc etc etc are white too. If they are company reprints who cares. I doubt very much that some scammer reprinted them. Many of these sets never saw the back of a cigarette pack, many were back doored or cut up later from sheets. Nice cards, I bet the seller claimed they were very good. lol Steve -
Re: eBay Bidder ID Question
I still say that it is now easier for scammers thanks to ebay's new policy. Just have a friend bid someone up is what you need to watch out for. Check past sells and see if the names add up to someone near their location. The new id's are the first and the last letters in the names so just check a sellers history before… -
Re: Block this EBayer
<< <i>3.) I get the EBay Account Info. The person on the other end of phone claims not to have an EBay account. >> Assume this one is true and report it to eBay as person (whrod) with false contact info. That is a NARU offense. If he is lying his account gets yanked. I fitting punishment. If he is telling the truth, then a…
