Re: 1922-D Lincoln Cent variations - Share your 1922 Lincoln pics

I have two 1922-D cents. On this circulated coin, the 1 and 9 in the date are much bolder than the 2's. This one's a PCGS MS64RD in an OGH, purchased in Teletrade auction #322 on May 22, 1991 for $139.75. Those were the days! There's a small dark spot below the E in E Pluribus Unum, but it's still a great coin. -
Re: 2 reales that circulated in US during early 1800's
Okay, help me understand how the pistareens (2 reales from Spain, as listed in KM) were 20% lighter than the Spanish colonial 2 reales. The pistareens weighed 6.77 g, were 0.903 fine, and contained 0.1965 oz silver while the colonial 2 reales weighed 6.77 g, were 0.917 fine, and contained 0.1996 oz silver. That is less… -
My First 72' Ike Type-2 and Type-3 reverses and they were a Bank score!!!

I walked into my bank today to deposit a check and while at the window asked them if they had any half dollars or Ike's. The teller did not have any Half Dollars but she did have 10 dollars worth of Ike's so I happily took them from her. 6 of the Ike's were Bicentennial's but were all the more common type...nothing… -

Re: 3-1/2 leg Buffalo or just a 1916-D on a funky planchet?
Looks like the 3 1/2 legger to me. As was eloquently stated by crazyhounddog, the 1916-D 3 1/2 leg variety has less of the leg missing than do the other dates of 3 1/2 leggers. BTW, even for the 3 1/2 leg varieties of the other dates, the weakness of the partial leg can vary. The one you want to get is the one with the… -
2 box break - '03 Fleer Tradition FB (just FYI)
I opened 2 hobby boxes (both had been purchased from the same dealer at the same time). Collation on the first box was ugly on the surface - the same card was often found in consecutive spots (2nd and 3rd card down) in the pack. However, the box (36 packs, 10 cards per pack) did produce 275 of the 300 different cards.…
