I passed on the Kennedy Gold and will pass on the silver set also. I like to collect perfect things. Meaning no lines, chips, streaks or other ugly distracting blemishes, and especially no Milk Spots. I will wait until the mint improves production before I will make another purchase. -

That issue was discussed here on several threads some years ago. I never did see a conclusion or identification of the black material. Much like milk spots on ASE's....just seems to be a problem that will not have an answer....although I feel certain the mint likely knows. Cheers, RickO -

Re: PCGS Warranty Loss Questions
PCGS just laid off 15, including graders. Their stock price is down almost 80% from the 52 week high. I would think that a lot of the warranty stuff was the whole bullion grading fiasco in which it was promoted as a good idea, and then the milk spots reared their ugly heads. -

...because then you can't pay to have your precious mounted in a "First Strike" slab...even though it might not have been struck anywhere near first...and it may also get milk spots and become worth less as a result of contamination during slabbing... Makes complete sense, no? -

I prefer the 1892. I think that you will find that it is a bit cloudy, going by the photo, but it still has a lot of eye appeal for the PR-63 grade. Usually they are dipped out. The milk spots on the 1906 kind of turn me off, but there are a lot of collectors who prefer the blue color. -

I have salvaged a lot of coins with PVC, so I have quite a bit of experience with coins contaminated with it. This is not the pattern PVC takes, so I do not believe it is PVC. Looks to me like his color is off a bit, and they look more like milk spots to me. -

This is why PCGS is #1 I agree 100% (really wanted an excuse to say that once) Anyone think NGC would have made right like this? Every time I see a NGC proof 70 with milk spots on the home shopping channel, I wonder the same thing -

At current silver price, not really a good deal if you ask me. The high demand for silver and big premiums are not flowing over into stuff like 40% and 80% canadian. Refinery here in NC which is a bout 30 miles from this guy is only paying spot minus 5% at best. He(the seller) is about 35 Miles from me, the weather is…
