The Liberty quarter and half eagle series are both so long and large that most people focus on a specific grouping. I'd start off by looking at the listings in the Red Book to get a sense of scale/availability. Are you more interested in the mint-marked coins? Are you more interested in circulated coins or uncirculated… -

i am learning this guy aint an expert. The overall rarity of most Charlotte half eagles has changed nothing has "changed". you were just wrong. As an example, I estimated in the second edition that 70-80 examples of the 1840-C half eagle existed. My revised estimate, in the third edition, is 80-100. if you were wrong… -

My thoughts echo both RYK and CharlotteDude. In a pm earlier I stated that the coin deserves to be in a F12 slab, and it wouldn't be out of the question to be maxed out to a F15.
