The scammers are getting closer to a spoof that would work
I think a phishing scam that would work is after an eBay auction, send a "Notification of an Instant Payment Received from (xxx)" to the seller after an auction closed. dheath, I remember Third Voice (but I didn't remember the name). I think one of its shortcomings was that the comments were anonymous, which would be unnecessary in this situation. Restricting it to work only with ebay would make it pretty uninteresting for people to use it for distasteful messages. I guess the key issue… -

That saying is bologna. Plenty of honest men and women have been cheated/scammed. A deal that’s “too good to be true” isn’t necessarily required in order for the cheater/scammer to succeed. -
