Yeah those milk spots will kill your coins...I do not think that price on the millinneum will hold over time as I feel it is the same coin as the regular 2000 BU, unless someone can prove different. -

Nice looking coin......I have a question about DMPL Morgans. I see quite a few with really nice mirrors, but seem to have some milk spotting or haze on them. Will the haze dip off or will if ruin the coin? JJ -

Just bought my one set. Half excited. Any more than one set would be a diminishing return on that excitement..would be great to find an error but more likely to find a milk spot. The other half of me is regretting this... -

Thanks, 1922 D and S mint Peace dollars tend to have rounded rims. The Philadelphia issue tends to have broader flatter rims. Also the Philadelphia coins tend to develop the splotchy toning and/or "milk-spotting" whereas the D and S coins don't as much. -

The ASEs had been in decline for awhile. The injection of the Type 2s gave the market a short high but that has worn off and reality has set in. soon to be worth only melt except for those who want to continue their series. P.S. don't forget all the milk spots. -

I've thinking about buy one of these or perhaps some of the graded coins, but the milk spot thing scares me. Are the odds that a coin or set would be showing signs by now? Or are any of these ever truly in the clear? Thanks -

I saw that and passed but you got it for a good price! it look like it had very little small milk spots all over it. that the pic.at the top of the page, i could not see them on the pic. at the lower part of the page. littlejohn -

I will politely disagree. Consider milk spots. One prevailing theory is that they are due to planchet preparation but don't immediately show up. Why couldn't fly specs have a similar origin: some planchet defect or contamination that darkens later?
