Re: 1888-s Morgan Dollar

newbies aren't permitted to post pictures, a common feature of most online forums to prevent spammers, shenanigans etc. a very nice and respectful post. i'll take the other approach. :o your coin is counterfeit and of the 6,000+ known vams, not ONE has a clash mark even remotely similar to that clashed O, especially for an… -
Re: Anyone Ever Have THIS Happen to Them?
UPDATE - VERY Interesting Stuff OK, the seller is refusing to call me even though I've respectfully asked him to several times now. He only communicates via email, and he just keeps repeating the mantra that "the coin was in the envelope when I shipped it". So it's time I "out" him. His Ebay handle is las_vegas_coins.… -
Re: One Year Ago Today...
Well this thread will get to 200+ posts rather quickly :-) The first coin I had was given to me in the early 1990's. There was a coin presentation at the elementary school library. I went to a school in semi-rural Western Pennsylvania. I think it was during an open house or some other evening program/event. I was in 5th or… -
Heritage Auction Emails
A few weeks ago I signed up as a bidder with Heritage Auctions. This was an auction that had several unopened boxes. I received a few emails about the auction with various notifications which was fine. After the auction ended I kept getting emails about other auctions. I unsubscribed from the emails and changed my… -
Re: Any one in Groups on Yahoo for Coins ??
As a result of one of the early Philippine Collectors Forums, I started a Philippine Numismatics Yahoo Group maybe 8 years ago. Had 20-30 members at peak, but essentially no discussion. Once the spammers started joining, I reluctantly made it moderated. Then one of our Philippine members decided he would post monthly… -

<< <i>How am I supposed to sign up there if all I have is a free email account? It doesnt make sense that they wont allow it. Who pays for email anyhow? >> I pay for an isp and I get several email accounts. I also own websites and I get an almost unlimited supply of email accounts. I work and I have an email account there… -
Re: Its Dec 31st....2029...
Mabey that generation won't care to collect cards of players that they never saw.. I collect Mantle.. Orr.. Howe.. but I don't think young guys 25 years from now will. I think they'll be collecting Gretzky, Roy, Bonds, GriffeyJR.. Unless they maybe like the cards from the 1930's to 60's for their unique look. I think… -
Re: NEWP CBH Guess the type, guess the grade, guess the Overton

OK to answer the grade and to tell Slammer why I got it. This coin has a bunch of luster that I could not capture today in the images. And from the guesses I think I am right that PCGS under graded it by a bunch. And that lead to a very attractive price. As mentioned there were a lot of these (CBH) at the show and many… -

Re: Possible review of dealers who advertise in coin magazines.

Why are you guys so scared of dealers? Anyone hear of ebay and their feedback system? The mechanism is already in place. thadd, the key is to allow unedited comments to be posted. If you simply hosted the site you will be OK, still could get sued but on what basis? Most of this could be unnecessary if people only bought…
