Re: The Mullet's 1881CC in the Flesh...er...Metal
Eric, I am pretty tolerant of most things and in most instances I admire your aggressiveness in finding and weeding out fradulent dealers/grading services. You and I have talked in numerous PM's about various people that we know are scammers and ways to take care of them. I wasnt going to say anything about the JB… -
Re: Ripoff Artists, ebay, and the so called Certification Companies that aid them

I'm sorry to hear about your NARU, Bruce ... but not surprised. It seems to me that eBay generally won't respond to a fraudulent auction unless at least three people complain and more than 24 hours remain on the auction. If the seller is a "PowerSeller" they're pretty much immune. On the other hand, they appear more… -
Excessive shipping, check out my story
I bought 4 very low end PSA 9s for two of my sets. They were all listed Buy It Now, priced from 1.99 to 2.99. The seller doesn't combine shipping and somewhat high shipping of $4. We all the scam, loss money on the sale, make it up in shipping and "handling". I buy them anyway, as it still works out as an OK deal, and I… -
Re: Kevin Flynn auction of die varieties at Heritage Auction
Kevin is one of the good guys, a prolific author on just about every series of US Coins. I've enjoyed his books over the years, and I don't mind him announcing the sale of his coins here on the US Coin forum. Could it be moved to the BST? I guess. But let's cut him a break and not treat him like some spammer that joined… -
Um, EXCUSE ME? ******** Update in Original Post

At NO POINT am I asked or told as I purchase insurance that coins/bullion is NOT insured for more than $15. But lease feel free to buy as much as you would like! ## UPDATE With the help of so many of you, along with a good peppering of snark(which motivated me) I made an appeal as to the settlement of my lost item. Between… -
A fun story about me, trading, and the post office :)
OK guys, get this. Last February, I completed a deal with mjcjk (Marc) where I sent him my three color brian shaw final piece jersey for his Iverson floor and MoPete jersey. Well, his cards never arrived, so I told him to just keep the Shaw, since he was such a trusted trader, and we'd even up on a later deal. Well, we… -
Re: Is this the "sign" that the bull run is ending?
<< <i>I got a chuckle over this earler today: My friend who got into the home remodeling business two years ago (when the business went to hell) called me and said he wants to open a store to buy and sell gold and silver. Is this the sign that the bull run is ending? >> No. My first cousin brought up this idea to me about… -
Re: For those who hate "dipped" coins.....
<< <i>Another good reason to not go into the men's room! >> I agree Amanda ... It can be a yucky place << <i>Some original coins are downright ugly and no one will buy them unless they are dipped. >> Ohhh please ... Who are you kidding ... Even the ugliest coin will find a home .... << <i>These dealers are in the business… -
Re: Note to all: getting Top-Rated Seller status is not worth it

<< <i>Here's something funny about "free shipping". I recently started doing this, and I'm making more money from it when it comes to people who bid on multiple items. For example: A.) List ten cards with a starting bid of $0.99 with $2.00 shipping. The same buyer wins all ten cards at the $0.99 opening bid. You combine… -
Re: Are dealers paying premiums for CAC stickered coins?
<< <i>Please show me a single example of a person who subscribes to this credo. If there are "plenty" you shouldn't have trouble pointing out one... >> I'm always amused when someone picks out one word and obtusely tries to use it to dismiss a larger more general point. "You said PLENTY so give me specifics, and if you…
