Re: Now this auction was fun to watch!!!
Hmmm, I think I am going to curtail my ebay purchases (except for a select few from trusted dealers) and start focusing on reputable online/offline dealers, coin shows, and the trade/buy forum here. As a born-again collector, I originally thought ebay was "da bomb" for buying coins. Seems I was right, at least for the… -
Re: How can you detect an ebay hijacked auction??
Although you don't list the ebay auction, it was pretty easy to locate the auction you described. Since you don't want it listed, I won't link it either. The only thing that may make you think that it is legit is the fact that the seller received recent feedback on a few high dollar auctions (comics). But when you read the… -
Re: I (DO) know that we DON'T really know whether grading is looser or tighter at a given time....and, h
Mark's assumptions are safe, as opinions are not proof that grading standards have changed. It is unlikely that all crackout scammers will organize with all documentation as evidence to refute Mark's argument. I have traced many early halves back to previous auctions in holders of lower grades, I own two of these, but this… -
Re: Warning - Ebay fraud alert

Barry; Thanks for the heads-up! A few weeks ago, I got suckered into responding to what I thought was a legitimate email from ebay asking me to open the link, which of course, looked like the real thing when I did it (ie: opening page; whereas, my screen name was there and I typed in my password). It was to enter a contest… -
I think it's the beginning of the end for Ebay...
I just bought put options on Ebay's stock because I think the EBay era might be coming to an end. I see them treating their sellers horribly, people are leaving left and right (voluntarily or involuntarily), not to mention I believe the scammers are winning the battle on both Ebay and PayPal. I also think that the novelty… -
Cracked a new ANACS holder today......
I had my first try today at cracking the newest ANACS slab which is made of harder plastic and sort of resembles the plastic SEGS uses. Simplest and most clean break of a slab I've ever cracked. Simply take a flat head screwdriver where the head is wider than the bottom of the slab. Insert head in between the two… -
Re: Asking eBay seller to end listing early? Protected?

<< <i> << <i> << <i>Same question in the post from the OP about the Cheerios Dollar and looks like the OP got cold feet or could be tring to figure out the Ol-coin switch trick. >> Are you this thick-headed? The post about the Cheerios Dollar wasn't even a question. How is it even a question. It's about the eBay seller.… -
Re: EBay etiquette, who leaves feedback first?
Is it really that big of an issue? Over the course of an eBay "career" there will be transactions where feedback will not be received. Worrying about it will accomplish nothing but creating aggravation and annoyance. If EVERYONE followed the same rule, there would be no issues. Feedback should be left when the portion of… -
Re: Ebay fee avoidance - a new twist

I'm not crazy about ebay's policies, I'm not crazy about their fee structures, and I'm not crazy about their attitude towards sellers, without whom ebay wouldn't exist. BUT... I understand that if I want to take advantage of the global marketplace they provide, I have to abide by those policies, pay those fees, and put up… -
Re: Non-Delivery Fraud?
The rise of the net brought people into the hobby. I really don't think it was the state quarter program lol. I've bought and sold for years, and although I have only been burned once (sending a guy 6 silver eagles with his promise to send it..."hot shipping"..) they have all been near perfect. Confidence levels were good…
