Re: 5 to 10 seconds to grade a coin?
We can do some easy math here and verify this. In a recent month, PCGS certified 130,000 coins. Another month was close to 100,000. Let's use the 100K figure as a ballpark average. Number of working days in the usual month is 22. That means 4,545 coins through per day. Each coin goes through 3 graders and a finalizer. This… -

Re: The MONEY SHOW in HOUSTON is Friday...
We are leaving for the show in a few hours. Another painful 20+ hour drive. Our table number is 432 (under Jade Rare Coin). Corner table I think. Andy is already down South hitting all of the coin shops. Jessica and I are leaving soon to be there for Thursday set-up. Here's our full show schedule. We may add a show or two,… -
1961 uncut sheet 5th Series auction
Click here Interesting facts: Corner cards are 379-Shantz, 428-Barker, 432-Veal, 436-Maloney. Barker is listed as an SP and Maloney is tough. Checklists for both 5th and 6th series are included, meaning the 5th Series one was likely the 2nd version. Eleven cards from that series not on sheet are 375-Boyer, 376-Roarke,… -

Re: 2003 Silver American Eagles- Predictions?
<< <i>432 coins needed >> Yikes! That's a lot of SAE's. I would be careful. I quickly tired of SAE's when I first started collecting about 2 years ago. I recently sold all of my proofs (only 5 coins). Now I just buy a MS every year from my local dealer for about $7 and put it in my Dansco. I don't really care what the… -
Re: 1978 Topps baseball collectors
At 432 cards, they have a 5% to 10% chance of pulling any card below a Pop 3. Of those 40 cards, they've got maybe 2 that can grade out at a 10. And, if they can pull a couple of 10's out of that box that grade Pop 1 or Pop 2, they'll make a profit at any price under $1000/box. ....someday, when we can shake this crazy…
