Re: Buyer wants return after 40+ days
Okay, more info. The seller claims that the slab has some frosting. In his scans, the card does have some minor frosting, but I have slabs that I sent in myself with similar frosting issues. The frosting is only on one side of the card which seems pretty common. I'm not going to name the card or buyer yet because I want to… -
Re: CNBC Story on eBay Fraud
Actually if you find an auction that is selling nothing more than feedback it is reportable, and sometimes Ebay will pull the listing. Ebay has to be careful though with what it does or they will kill their venue only status. I do not see why everyone tries to say Ebay is a monopoly it is not a monopoloy or even close to… -
Re: Do you believe this??
Holy isht... that borders in exploitation... seriously. Also, it's probably a total and complete lie. My assertion toward that is the seller's mention of a Nigerian "scammer" winning the unit in a previous auction, but if you look at their auction history you'll see they've only sold off one other unit (also mentioned in… -
Re: Message from Mr. Ebay
You know when you think about it - Ebay has what 1 or 2 Million Auctions running across all categories. They really don't have the manpower to check every single auction listed at any one time. Their customer service team is probably sitting on a lilly pad in a pond full of alligators. Keyword searches would help in trying… -
Re: Bowers book giveaway contest: WINNER ANNOUNCED

RYK, Thanks for this opportunity! I've been posting here for four month's now and I've learned so much I don't know where to begin. I'll give it a shot though: 1. Do your homework. I try to do my homework before I spend alot of money on coins. I like Kennedy Halves so I purchased the Wiles and Tomaska book's as well as the… -
Re: 11 Stupid people
Again, my feelings towards someone dumb enough to bid on this (as they are doing it solely out of greed) and other similar types of scam auctions... tough crap. They may not deserve what's coming to them, but they sure should have thought a little more about it before acting so quickly to throw away their money. If they… -
Re: .
If someone is asking, they are better off with a CD in a bank or something else boring. It is far too easy to get stuck with a "dog" coins listed at $50k with a retail value of $40k or even less (sometimes a lot less in the case of telephone boiler room scammers). Plenty of non-collectors get the fever and end up with… -
Re: Why vest pocket dealers drink - part II

<< <i>Anyone who sells by a website or runs ads in CL / kijiji/ etc has surely received some scam attempts. Usually it involves fraudulent / spoof paypal payments. Sometimes they "pay" (always a spoof email) an amount higher than the asking price, and then request a transfer of the "excess" funds to them via western union.… -
Re: Need Help! I need everyone to voice in on this one!
<< <i> << <i> << <i>The more I read this, the less I would care to deal with either party. This is not the first time a newbie poster debuted with a mishap over a transaction, expecting to get unanimous support from the forum, only to find that he/she was not free from blame. >> " that's a ditto >> She has dropped several… -
Re: A question about sales on the BST?
<< <i>First, you can do it, but you limit those who may do transactions with you. I prefer Paypal, particularly in dealing with those I don't know yet (both ends...buying and selling). Second, you can have a PP account and have it linked to your CC, it just defaults to your bank account. Change it when you make any…
