Only 2 dime varieties exist for the year 1828. This is an example of the JR-2 variety, distinguished by a larger date and a curled base in the '2' in the date. TIL that Nolan Ryan had more complete game no hitters (7) than he did complete game no "walkers" (4) and 2 of his career "no walker" games came within a week of each other in 1988! can you imagine what his career would have been if he would have had better control starting out?
