TIL that Nolan Ryan had more complete game no hitters (7) than he did complete game no "walkers" (4) and 2 of his career "no walker" games came within a week of each other in 1988!
can you imagine what his career would have been if he would have had better control starting out? Pedro Martinez, but only for twice as long!
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

I've shared this before; in his book "The Umpire Strikes Back" former Major League umpire Ron Luciano says that when Ryan had control of both his fastball and his curve he was basically unhittable.
