I just got 9 SAE's back that I sent in for milk spots, all were graded PR69 DCAM. 7 came back, PR69 DCAM, without milk spots, 2 in body bags with a check. Put the 7 on ebay, SAE's are just not worth the trouble. -

Ken, It looks to me to have super mirrors, with VERY LIGHT hairlining in the left obverse field. The milk spot is an issue. The cameo is heavy enough for cam, but based only on the pic I think it would not get the dcam designation. I might feel differently with the coin in hand, but the devices seem silver instead of… -

Sounds like "milk spots" - they seem to be very common on silver eagles. There is no getting rid of them that I have heard of. You can do a search here for milk spots and a whole bunch of information will come up - photos even so you can compare to yours. good luck. -

Ohhhh Nooooo the dreaded milk spotting! I just asked the seller if they are indead milk spotting I will post back here on the board shortly as I am sure he will answer my question. Good thing is he offers free returns if your not happy with the product. -

I will repeat here, some advice I received from Russ many years ago. "Dip your silver coins from the mint in acetone as soon as you receive them." He told me it would prevent the milk spots. I have done that. No milk spots. Cheers, RickO -

It will improve them whether it is a bad dip or milk spots, but if it's milk spots, they won't come off completely. NCS has done pretty well removing them for me, better than I can, but they can't completely remove them either, or at least they didn't on the ones I sent them. Good luck. -
