Re: The Michael F. Hayes Barber Megathread
Mike! Looks like you went home with quite a nice haul! While this was the slowest FUN show I have ever had in almost 20 years things did finally pick up and make the show worth while although still disappointing. It was quite obvious to many of us in the budget section that FUN did seem to do what they could to reduce the… -
Re: The Michael F. Hayes Barber Megathread
Mike...sorry you friend's losses have not been found. I have an interesting somewhat related experience. I am very meticulous about keeping records of the graded coins I sell and keep them on a spreadsheet. My missing coins can be counted on 1 hand. I purchased the coin at a Heritage auction so I could prove I owned the… -

Mike- Valente 151 was right; you are a forgetful man. They were both 1900, not 1911! As far as a 58+ goes, if the grading room thought the coin was… -
Re: The Michael F. Hayes Barber Megathread
I know there are a couple of PCGS offices in Western Europe - one in Paris and one in Germany ( can't remember where, now ) .... Maybe now there's a branch office in Rome ? Our friend Jeff has been rooting them out of the cupboards across the world. Think he nabbed a few from Formosa. Looking forward to seeing these when… -
Re: The Michael F. Hayes Barber Megathread
Lenny, Now I know where I saw it - and yes, I remember the entire conversation. You were holding it for Vern. Soon thereafter, I located an MS 61 [ subsequently sold on this BST a month ago ] and yes, you're correct, Vern did offer me the coin. I was very sorry to have passed. After a year or so, I also found another 09-S… -

No wonder it peaked during my sale in 2011. Can it be that its current value is over $15K now ? Crazy !! Jeff.... I really like that 92-S, wouldn't… -
Re: The Michael F. Hayes Barber Megathread
I was able to pick up a true upgrade to my Everyman Barber set at FUN- it's been about a year. I've had 2 AU 53 coins in my set for about a year; a '97 S and a '13 S. I like the look of 55/ 58's, so both coins were upgrade cantidates. Both are tough dates, although the '97 S has loosened up a bit. After I I found my new… -
Re: The Michael F. Hayes Barber Megathread
Nice 13-D Jeff. Your Quarter set is really coming along ! Darrell...I didn't have the time to notify everyone who might be interested in any of my Halves. it was enough that I had the time to post them with images in as timely a manner as I could allow. The 04-S came out of David Kahn's web site - and it did not CAC -… -
Re: The Michael F. Hayes Barber Megathread
DrPete...Congratulations ! You were the 1,000th poster on this 3rd Barber Thread. .....if we were not stuck so frequently, I doubt our post count would've been over 750 ! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jeff From Tampa asked about the sticking thread - and what I was doing anything different… -
Re: The Michael F. Hayes Barber Megathread
I was at the FUN show all day Thursday and Friday. I spent part of each day manning the BCCS Table and a lot more time wandering the bourse floor. It was great to catch up with Barber friends, including John Frost, Carl Feldman, Dave Earp, and Lenny Rizzo. Also spent time chatting/ purchasing from some of my favorite…
