Peace 1925

First BU Peace purchased today. Love this Design. This coin was sold to me as BU+, with which I agree. The coin in hand has tremendous Frosty Cartwheel lustre that is difficult to capture in the photo. It does, however have a hit on the Eagles tail as well as some toning spots or milkspots on the reverse. Overall, I would… -
Re: The Official First Spouse Thread-'Cause Consolidation is a beautiful thing.
My 20th Anniversary Silver set had milkspots, so I called the mint about returning them. The guy I spoke to said that I could return them, but there was no guarantee I'd get a replacement because they had sold out. I figured I was better off keeping my set rather than taking a chance returning them. He also alluded to the… -
Re: Official American eagle error coin list- how many
I just opened a box of 12 and got 12 errors. Another box of 10 produced none at all. Are these UNC or Proof? Seems that they are being found in both. Anyone looking for 2007 reverse of '08s yet? Issue date for the 08-W UNC was 3/17 so it's probably too late for opened boxes. Although I like PCGS better, it seems to me that… -
a `lil kudos to PCGS for standing behind their guarantee

i sent in two atb`s and one 20th anniv. PR70DCAM with spotting problems. the atb`s looked like milkspots and the eagle had reddish colored spotting. the offers made on the atb`s were very fair and i chose the lower cash amount with the coins returned raw. there was no mention of the eagle so i assume they were able to… -
Re: thoughts on 29-P buff nick

To me, the spots do not appear to be pvc. They seem to be almost like small milkspots seen on the ultra moderns. Could be light watermarks as well. The coin has good eye appeal and is very nice. I always have a tough time grading buffer nicks. To me, it seems like there is flatness above the tie on the braid. Don't know if… -
Re: Okay, so may I place doctor behind my name now ? Check out my ASEs
<< <i>Where's the mild spots? or are they considered AD (artificially damaged) by the TPG's . I've never seen a milk spotted ASE that wasn't in a slab. >> I agree with you. I just submitted a sealed box of 20th ASE's and not a single one came back in with milkspots. The 12 remaining ones that I had from my submission when… -
Re: SAE 2006 3 coin, 10 set sealed (Judas box) goes for $8K
<< <i> << <i>those boxes will be 10k in 2 months >> no tree grows to the sky... >> True. I do wonder the ultimate shakeout price of the RP though..(as well as the high price). The 30k minted 1995W got up to around $6k+. This is not even close to that mintage but is much cooler, imho. I could see $600-$800 for these, w/o… -
Re: I need help with my 95W SAE
Mine are doing the same thing. My wife started a collection for me, when issued, with an album and everything. Now, most of them have milk spots and they are all MS as issued. A dealer I went to said this may be good to have milkspots because it will cause toning. Well, he is out in the street with that one because they… -
Re: CAC sticker service: update
In-hand inspection isn't as necessary when I have decades of looking at PCGS coins and know that I can soundly rely on their grading ability and quality. That doesn't mean PCGS doesn't mess up once in a while, but to think this dealer sent in a pile of PCGS screw ups is very unrealistic and while PCGS may give a an ASE a… -
Re: The Dansco, "Toners Only" SOLD THE ALBUM of 20!

Congratulations on landing the album. My ASE set cost me about a thousand bucks along with the Dansco album that was snagged for about 25$ Wishing you all the very best in the endeavor. As for toned coins, I would have absolutely no clue about prices, but posting the archive pics below of my set to show as to how haze and…
