Peace 1925

First BU Peace purchased today. Love this Design. This coin was sold to me as BU+, with which I agree.

The coin in hand has tremendous Frosty Cartwheel lustre that is difficult to capture in the photo. It does, however have a hit on the Eagles tail as well as some toning spots or milkspots on the reverse. Overall, I would say MS64 but don't know much about grading Peace Dollars. Are they known for weak strikes, as this piece doesn't seem to have a great one.

That's a nice strike. I picked this one up at a pawn shop , months ago:

I make no excuses for my lack of photography skills without a copy stand and just using AUTO with a flash is the best it gets for me.
Yours is nice. I hope you didn't OVERPAY for it.

Looks pretty lustrous. Looks BU to me too. I hate grading Peace dollars, one of the biggest reasons I go back 100% to Morgans.

I think you are right is your estimate of MS64

That is a great looking coin, I like it!
  • The strike is fairly strong for the issue. Check the hair in front of the ear. But I'm concerned about the many small obverse marks I see. But maybe it's just the image.

Choice 63-64 no problem from these pics, good score.
These 25-P are usually decent strikes though you will find some weaker ones.

I think MS64 is dead on and it looks very nice for the grade. That strike isn't at all bad.Looks like a nice pickup.image
  • Hi again Onecent. Here is a picture of my 1925 peace dollar I had stashed in with my Ike hoard.

It is not nearly as nice as yours.

Why is it, "A penny for your thoughts," but, "you have to put your two cents in?" Somebody's making a penny.

Those are some nice 25's, here is one that Musky gave me a few months ago.

Id give it a 64. It is a decent strike for the date. I love the look of a decently struck peace dollar with dripping luster.
