Re: Help! Anyone else think there's something wrong with this Reggie auto?
Just thought I would update this one for everyone who took the trouble to help me out. Contrary to my expectations (and I suspect most other people’s) the seller, far from being a scammer, was merely the victim of someone else. He readily forwarded a scan of the card-back which proved the forgery and without prompting… -
Re: Thanks for the comments...

Burfle— Your thread is an extremely valuable post for all of us. Your resources allow collectors like me to become savvier and avoid the scammers, which is a tremendous value to our hobby. I acquire coins through shows, dealers, and online resources and have encountered several hard-to-detect fakes. For the past several… -
Online numismatic fraud
I'm new here, but on this and every other board I've visited, internet, and in particular eBay fraud is a topic of concern and discussion. Here is one message regarding these concerns: "-Hello everyone. I have been kicking the idea around about forming a coalition group to actively work to clean up the numismatic fraud on… -
Good stuff happens here
With all the drama that occurs here every now and then I wanted to post a positive thread - here are my observations of some of the good stuff that happens here in no particular order: Completed the 06 A&G, 07 and 08 Heritage sets with the help of the board, with many cards sent for nothing in return. Some of the SPs I… -
Good Ebay / Bad Ebay
I believe in psychology the term is "enabler". Well, in my humble opinion, Ebay is an enabler, allowing thousands of seamy semi-con artists access to the worlds greatest internet mega-store. Of course, many will argue caveat emptor, let the buyer beware....or argue the benefits of the feedback system as a way of keeping… -
Confederate Currency Authentication Help

Hi all! I'm hoping to get your opinion on a CSA that I am thinking of purchasing...and maybe an idea of approximate value... A guy contacted me with a few pics of a T-35 saying that he wanted to sell it. As most scammers say, he inherited it... but this guy seems more legit. He knows what it is, claims his parents bought… -
Re: ***now
Speaking as a father (and grandfather) who has a deep passion for coins, I think it would be great to expose your son to numismatics, but just don't push him (not that I think you would). My daughter used to accompany me to almost every coin show I did, and while I knew she wasn't into coins to the degree that I was, I… -
Re: Shipping and insurance
PayPal doesn't always have your back if you ship insured with a signature required. The buyer can simply claim you swapped coins on them or shipped a deck of $2 playing cards instead. You need better proof if you want to beat the scammers at their own game. Who do you think PayPal will side with if the buyer says they… -
Re: Shipping is Free! - PSA Graded Cards Mystery Lot of 697 slabs
It is possible this guy got taken advantage of on a previous sale and the buyer searched and returned IF his stuff is indeed sealed/unsearched. So now he is including that in the description to protect himself. OR we have the more popular belief, he is a resealer/scammer. B) I guess I only am listing the other option as… -
Re: Please help me educate a coin buyer
My coin. And thank goodness Shane is my consignor because I know he'll treat the customer right, make a good return, and offer the coin to another happy buyer. Ebay is a great place to find great coins but has taken a lot of steps, supposedly in the interest of customer protection, which have pitted the buyers against the…
