Good Ebay / Bad Ebay

I believe in psychology the term is "enabler".
Well, in my humble opinion, Ebay is an enabler, allowing thousands of seamy semi-con artists access to the worlds greatest internet mega-store.
Of course, many will argue caveat emptor, let the buyer beware....or argue the benefits of the feedback system as a way of keeping things honest. However, does this always work? Of course not as I see nonsense after nonsense each day from outright scammers to shill bidders to WIWAG cards still passing auction to auction.
So, I propose a Good Ebay vs. Bad Ebay . On Good Ebay we have the conscientious, responsible buyer & sellers who are 98% of Ebay. On Bad Ebay, well, lets just say its like walking in the bad part of town alone at night...dog eat dog.
Once you fall below 96% positive feedback, have your account suspended, be found to be part of shill bidding, you are automatically banished to the Ebay "Phantom Zone" ...the BCCG of Ebay...
We can all dream, right?
Too many beers under the Palm tree.

About ebay it wont be long to the government steps in and regulates it. Then everybody will complain about how good it once was!

There would have to be some serious lawsuits before the government would get in, or the government would have to find some serious evidence that ebay has been doing illegal things. Then again, the Federal government is paying attention to possible attacks, so ebay is the least of their concerns.
My guy had a feedback of over 300 with a single negative. He was advertising all the cards he had been buying over the last few months. We will see if PayPal's buyers protection means a thing, at least I'm qualified.
My highlight was sunrise at the top of Haleakala; at 10,000 feet it was 30 degrees and sunrise over the crater, in the clouds, looked like you should be seeing this out an airplane window or like the moonscape....awesome....
Ahem...back to cards...I see at least 6 posts or more since this went up about Ebay gone awry.
Its the only game in town...but that reminds me of the excuses you hear when you ask my fellow New Yorkers how they tolerate traffic or $55 parking tickets..."what are you gonna do" (shrug).
It seems we should be able to do something....anything......
As for ebay no matter how many of us complain about it we will continue to use it bc it works.
if yahoo maybe advertised the heck out of there auctions they could compete but they dont seem to care right now! 5 cents to list compared to 30 cents adds up.

come on in and greet the Mets,

<< <i>It is not all Ebay's fault. I'm in a situation with a guy from a small Michigan town. I call that town's police department and they tell me there isn't any statute to cover the fraud via the internet. >>
You may want to pass this site on to that police department!
