FSH: Coin-a-palooza! something or everyone (US, darkside, etc.)

All of the coins listed below include US shipping (overseas will be extra), and payment by Paypal only on this lot First up is a clock that would be perfect for any numismatist: this was was produced in '68, and features all '64 uncirculated US silver coinage. It will however need a new quartz movement, as it died a couple… -
Re: ADDED PHOTO'S To grade or not to grade (Franklin and Washington)
If the Franklin half and the Washington quarter are Proof coins with cameo devices, the cameo must be on both sides. If the cameo is only on one side, chances are the coins are not worth the grading fee and postage. If they are cameo coins on both sides, they must also be free of any major hairlines or deep toning spots to… -
Re: 2006 SAE 20th Annv sets
I had the same thoughts yesterday Boichman! I was a reminiscing/ruminating about the good old days, 2006-2008, and the now fond memories I have of the Anniv. Sets. Many were debating the merit of spending $33 and ounce for the sets, they quickly rose and fell, now, we are in green PM pastures. I still hear some debating… -
Re: Still no quantities of Silver
Neither of my local dealers would sell at anywhere NEAR the lowered prices. They remained glued to the spot price of near $20, plus applicable premium, for selling. They BOTH were struggling to purchase the amounts they wanted, hoping that customers would sell, as they typically do during such a larger turndown in… -
Re: 1894 PCGS Morgan
Well, most of you are dead on. I sent it in in an ANACS EF40 holder for crossover, no net grade, and it came back VF30. It definitely has a mild to moderate case of the uglies, I am assuming those are carbon spots on it. As far as I can tell, it hasn't been cleaned, just wiped with a little acetone with no luck at trying… -
Re: Did some Site Searching This Morning (lots of Pics)
<< <i>Some good looking spots Danny. Is that just one area, or spread out over your trip? Jerry >> It is spread out over the entire length of the trip. The last few pics are about two miles from my home. It is the old Tropico Gold Mine. The whole site is barbed wire fenced and is owned by an absentee owner. They primarily… -

Re: How many folks here regularly dip coins?
I dip proof and SMS silver, nickel and clad coins to remove milky haze that has developed on the coins. Most times it works very well, resulting in a coin that looks much better. However, there are times when the results of the dip turns out to be neutral or bad. Usually this is when the haze hides surface conditions of… -
Re: Do collectors focus on different grading aspects as they gain experience?
First of all, newbies don't know the difference between technical grade and market grade. TPG all do market grading. Old-school pros often do technical grade but are knowledgable about both. Personally, I've seen a lot of newbies who focus on fields. If the fields are clean, they feel good about the coin. Same goes for… -
