1894 PCGS Morgan

What do y'all think the grade on this Morgan is? I received my first submission to PCGS and agree with most of their grades, except what they gave me for this one.

They probably called it a 20, net grading it for light cleaning and a mild case of the uglies.

Im guessing VF30 maybe VF35. PCGS has a tendancy to undergrade problem key date coins. Your dollar looks to have some cleaning and possibly lamination problems on the obverse. At least you didn't get it back in a body bag.

25, I agree with the verdict from Eurekas Castle.

My first thought was that I'm surprised it made it into a holder.
I'll say you thought it was going to be EF45 but it only made VF35

It looks like a VF 30 to me....not sure what they would give it.......I have an 1884-S in VF35 that looks similar and looks to have been cleaned.......then I sent in a 1890-CC Tailbar with a light cleaning and they bagged it so........be happy it holdered image

I think the only reason that this one made it into a coffin was the fact it is a semi-key If this was an 1881....fergeddaboudit!

Well, most of you are dead on. I sent it in in an ANACS EF40 holder for crossover, no net grade, and it came back VF30. It definitely has a mild to moderate case of the uglies, I am assuming those are carbon spots on it. As far as I can tell, it hasn't been cleaned, just wiped with a little acetone with no luck at trying to get that junk off. I thought it was a high end EF40 or even EF45 for details, but I guess it is net graded and still made it into a holder.

This kinda reminds me of a thread from about 16-19 months ago, maybe longer, about an 1895-o Morgan.
