Re: What's going on with the reverse on this Morgan???
Don't know. Maybe it WAS a prooflike with some milkiness in the mirrors. I had an '81-S with some milk spots, not as big an area, but spotty nonetheless that was simply too distracting to keep. The coin can be found with unmarred surfaces, so if your question is geared toward why there are no bids, well, probably because… -
Re: MS 70 ASE Definitive Clarification Requested

If you go to the PCGS main page (www.pcgs.com) there is a link halfway down the page (along with an intro to MS70 guidance for SAEs....) Right here is where the link takes you Now, what is interesting is that I also understood it to be only the "W" mintmarked SAEs of 2006 and 2007. However, I don't read that anywhere in… -
Re: Spotting on my SAE 2017 Burnished Silver Eagle PCGS-SP70's (their ugly!)
I don't think you will have any luck removing milk spots from Silver Eagles. :( A few years ago PCGS was offering a $50,000 reward to anyone who could find a way to remove / prevent the spots. No-one ever collected on this offer as far as I know. I had sets of Silver Eagles years ago. Raw sets and a complete slabbed set.… -
Re: Why the 2026 Congratulations set should be a winner
As you seem to know the workings of ABPP: Do you know if they have QC return privileges ? Like milk spotted coins or actual flaws ? How much more do they pay for 1776~2026 ASE Proofs that the rest of us get a shot at for $173 ? Can they buy all they want of each available issue or they limited ? Is everything available To… -

<< <i> << <i> << <i>Were they issued with cereal numbers? >> No, but all the pictures of them are very grainy....... >> Some have attempted to make cast copies of the Cheerios sac but savvy collectors know the genuine examples were Generally Milled coins. >> You know, the more I think about this the more surprised I am… -
Re: Should I sell my AGE set? Thoughts please...truly torn.
<<My original goal was silver eagle proofs while I got to learn more about other coins I am interested in. But I have heard horror stories on the milk spot problem and have started to shy away from Silver Eagles.>> I started with proof ASE's and expanded greatly from there. I have never gotten a proof ASE with milk spots.… -
Should I return MS62 Saint?
I recently picked up a PCGS 1928 Saint Gaudens in MS62 from APMEX to fill the with motto spot in my 20th century type gold set. Well the coin arrived yesterday after waiting for about 2.5-3 weeks. Upon initial inspection my wife noticed that the reverse has a milk spot about 2x2mm on the reverse; right on the eagles neck… -

1964 Kennedy OBW Rolls
So I recently acquired three 1964 Kennedy OBW Rolls. One of the rolls was damaged so I opened it (also to confirm that they were all 1964 Kennedys. Inside the roll a few coins had this black flaky substance between the coins. This I lightly dabbed off with a dry tissue. However majority of the coins have all these little…
