A very long time ago, a lot of people used their email address as their ID, including me. That was in the days before spammers took over the internet. I had to shorten it when spam started to become a problem. -

Interesting....haven't heard of that requirement nor have I ever been asked to do so. Where you using someone else's computer? Sounds like an IP address issue. eBay verifying it's you and not a spammer making the pruchase. -
