1944 2 FR, Belgique shattered die?

I just wonder, would this fall under the “shattered die” category for world coins, in cuds on coins? There are 3 different cracks starting from the rim moving inward. If not what do you feel like it is? Unusual die cracks? I think this is so cool!! I want to send this to cuds if i can figure out how to lol Not sure why the… -
Re: Has anyone ever heard of this coin or token?
No, no photos. I have some issues with what I have read so far. The first “evil leader” was the Roman emperor, Caligula. Fair enough. Caligula was insane and cruel, deserved to be assassinated because in Rome, there was usually no other way to change leadership. The trouble is the author made the claim that was the… -
Re: What year were these (1770) Macniven & Camerons Pen Tokens made?
Most "false guinea" tokens date from the lifetime of George III (pre-1820), but these are much later in make. By 1850, card-counter makers were all making Cumberland Jacks, rather than false guineas. The company was founded in 1770 (hence the date, and anachronistic theme) but didn't adopt the "Macniven & Cameron" name… -

Thanks for the replies everyone. It's good to get different insights. I'm in the process of updating my collecting approach which is one reason for soliciting more feedback in my decisions. In this process, I'm okay with having some false negatives (if this is a false negative) to set up a process that can help me avoid… -

Re: Satisfied e-bayer threatens to file complaint.Update;settlement reached.
<< <i>If you say that a coin has a shot at MS70 and it doesn't get it, are you obligated to give a refund? NO! >> I don't see how this is relevant because this is not the case being discussed. A more similar example would be if you said a coin had a shot at a PCGS MS70 and it's a coin that PCGS flat out doesn't grade. <<… -

Interesting case where Ebay got sued b/c someone left negative feedback on a buyer
Although this is not really numismatic related, I found this case interesting (a lot of people post threads about Ebay, so hopefully no one minds this post). The case is from this year, and basically a buyer sued Ebay for defamation becauase a seller posted negative comments about him on a particular transaction (I guess… -
Re: Guess the Altered Surfaces
<< <i>I have had coins come back with altered surfaces, I disagreed and resubmitted, next time it came back it was graded. What did i learn? >> That detecting altered surfaces is inexact. That while there are coins that that will always grade and coins that will never grade, there are also coins that will sometimes grade,…
