Look anything like this? That's an Accented Hair and they, even more than the regular variety, tend to be plagued by milk spots. They are also far more prone to hairlining. Russ, NCNE -

It's quite nice after the dip, looks like it will make cameo. I'm a little surprised the milk spot between T R still remains even after the dip. -

I don't know if NGC has guarantees like PCGS does...if they do, you may want to send them the 2003 for a grade guarantee.....the milk spots are a killer. -

The milk spots originate at the mint - period. The manifestation may be enhanced by storage conditions.. it is not known or understood. Silver rounds or darkside silver does not manifest this condition... Cheers, RickO -

Would that even matter? Does PCGS guarantee a coin for above its PCGS guide value? Plenty of toned ASEs are MS 67 or below. The PCGS guide for this grade is below $50 for most dates. The market value can easily be 10x guide. On a similar note, didn't the TPGs stop guaranteeing ASEs that develop milk spots? Has that… -

It was returned by PCGS last year as altered surface as well. I sent it to NCS, they did what they do and put it in an NGC Slab in a decent grade. I guess PCGS now agrees. Herein lies my issue with "Altered Surface". What does that mean? "......altered surfaces" designation on it. Instead, they are providing a useful… -

I sent one to NCS that looked like that, and it came back looking exactly the same. I posted it here, and Russ said that milk spots are common on the 64 AH's...
