PCGS grading process question

Does PCGS use any type of sterilization process when grading coins?
Dust free environment, gloves while handling coins, masks?

If not, could this lend to the milking on coins?

The milk spots originate at the mint - period. The manifestation may be enhanced by storage conditions.. it is not known or understood. Silver rounds or darkside silver does not manifest this condition... Cheers, RickO

DeBeers creates a laser etching in most of their diamonds to be able to keep a database of them. PCGS however, doesn't want to damage your coins with lasers and engraving tools. they simply have the graders lick the obverses; that way, if there is any doubt who graded the coin, and if it was truly graded by PCGS, they can run the DNA test and trace it back to that grader. pretty cool, huh!?

well....kinda......you would have slightly different toning patterns based on the person's Ph balance, as well as whether they brushed their teeth after breakfast/lunch et cetera. the darker coins may be a product of a lick after a Starbucks, lighter colored toning (milk spots) would be the product of either whole or skim drinkers.
