Re: 4-Coin Platinum Uncirc Sets - RISING FAST!!!

<< <i>Is that the same guy who use the BIN a few time? If so you might be able to give him enough strikes to strike him out. >> He just used it once for 5 coins. I believe he really wanted to buy them but couldn't get a paypal account open in a timely manner and has thrown up his hands in frustration. Acutally, he is… -
Re: This guy wants sellers to leave feedback first!
I agree with him, as a buyer, your job is to pay, if you do so, you should be left pos. feedback, I think alot of sellers, don't do this to hold you hostage, if you are not happy and leave neg feedback then they will do the same to you. That is B.S. I have gotten the shaft on many small $ items and did not leave neg.… -
Re: Question about certification numbers or hiding them.
There have been many eBay "sellers" (scammers) stealing images from legitimate auctions and "selling" them fraudulently. Some of these were spotted and reported (and proven) by the slab and certification number. I'm sure there are some more "intelligent" thiefs photo-editiing some of these numbers out making it much more… -

Re: RDV-006 (FEP) Photo Thief on EBay
<<I've noticed that many VAM listings show Pictures from VAMWorld and don't make it real clear that the pictures are not of the coin being sold.>> I agree....but, they also aren't fraudulently claiming to be the author and photographer of that particular VAMWorld section, like THIS guy did when he first listed the coin for… -
Re: Why do the majority of Ebay sellers insist the buyer leave feedback first?

<< <i>Does a buyer who uses a stolen credit card and ends up getting the item for free while the seller gets the shaft deserve a positive feedback. And just how often is THAT happening? 1 out of 1000? 1 out of 10,000? >> i dunno, but 2 people on this board alone were scammed by one buyer who filed credit card chargebacks..… -
Re: PayPal Stole My Money!
<< <i>Doesn't matter to PayPal. If you do not have tracking info that can be viewed online, you lose, period. This is why I have have prepared to get a merchant account to take cards directly, I've had enough of their nonsense. >> I have a merchant account (for my real job). Fortunately, we don't deal with scammers, and… -
Re: 1953 Topps Lottery- is anyone buying this?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... Not sure that it is a scam. Guy is a board member. Benefit of the doubt should be given here. Perhaps 53toppscollector is just being creative? The description points everything out. While I will not be buying I wish him luck. Not all on ebay are scammers, especially those that spell it out as he has… -
Re: What would happen to coin market WITHOUT ebay?

Without eBay, those of us who do not live near coin shops, or even live in a city that does not have even minor coin shows would be sitting back saving our money. I am thankful eBay is there even if there are lots of scammers selling on it. eBay is like the 24-hour coin store. I rarely get to go to the FUN show and other… -
Re: CRIMINAL Liability for SUBJECTIVE Grading!
This is a great citation. It puts the lie to a certain tenor of thought on these boards that grading is only an "opinion," and because scammers issue mere opinion, nothing can be done about fraudulent overgrading. I don't want to debate the point because it's such nonsense, but privately I saluted those responses that…
