Is AI Grading here?

Saw this ad in the new Numismatist issue. Not a lot of details on the website. I have to imagine all of the TPGs have been pitched already. Would they announce if they are using such a thing? As with all things like this, it looks impressive but the devil is in the details. Something like this will work for 98% of coins… -
A tale of 2 AUs (Gold Type 2 Double Eagles)

I've been casually looking at Type 2 Double Eagles for my type set over the past year. Other interests have held me back, and also I hadn't seen a coin that was just right. I was looking for a nice common date AU58. MS60-61's generally look pretty banged up, and an MS62 runs $2,500, which is 4x+ the price. The challenge is… -
Re: 1983 Lincoln Cent – Defective Bronze Planchet. NGC VS PCGS.
I have handled (2) dated 1989, (1) dated 1989 double struck, (2) dated 1990 and (2) dated 1991. These all weighed 3.1g or extremely close and were unquestionably struck on the earlier bronze Lincoln Cent planchets. Anything as far off in weight as the 2 being discussed in this thread and several other threads, thought to… -
FS: Odd Type Set (1/2¢ - 2¢ - 3CS - 3CN - 20¢) in Capital Holder
I have linked to high resolution images of the coins below. The Half Cent has a hit on the rim. The 2¢ has some spots that are just dirt that can be carefully removed. Other than that the coins are problem free and very nice. The set is $420 including the Capital Plastics holder and insured, Registered mail. Please PM me… -
1828 B-2 Bust Quarter

The newest addition to my bust quarter collection is this 1828 B-2. 1828 B-2 is roughly tied with 1828 B-3 for the title of scarcest 1828 die marriage, but 1828 B-3 is far more popular due to the 25/50 engraving error on its reverse. 1828 B-2 is the only 1828 die marriage with a square base 2 in “25 C.”, but since this… -
Re: Gold Coins Experts: $2 1/2 and $5 grade and value
<< <i> << <i>All I have to say is "watch for counterfeits". From this angle it's almost/impossible to detect authenticity. I would pass. >> In hand, what should I look for to confirm authenticity/fake? And if authentic, what would be a fair value for them? Chaz >> I've always wanted to become an expert in the field of… -
I might need to kill 2-1/2 hours before the Baltimore show on Friday--any ideas?
I was taking a look at flight schedules, and it looks like I might get into Baltimore on the Friday of the show at approximately 7:30 AM. If I remember correctly, the convention center is a pretty short drive/light rail ride from the airport. Assuming that I am in the convention center area by 8:00 AM, does anyone have… -
