Re: Counterfeit 1989 Fleer Bill Ripken FF error ??
Just have a camera here at work so pics are not the best. From the seller...IN 1989, THE NATIONAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION, HERE IN WASHINGTON, D.C., MADE TRADING CARDS OF ALL 535 PEOPLE IN THE HOUSE & SENATE. THEY ONLY MADE 500 SETS FOR EACH POLITICIAN. This was the very first year that cards were made for all the… -
Re: I finally got around to submitting my stamps!
Congrats Matt you did good got some nice 95's and a 98 ,see you added a Harding Memorial set to the registry too. I hope mine come back in a week or so too (rec. June 2) I need to go over to the USD # sets and add some more stamps, maybe Nick Kirke won't go over there for a while and I can have some #1 sets for a brief… -
Re: Becoming a coin speculator.
cladking....Not all coins are lousy specs. I can recall having UPS bust their backs hauling 1999 proof quarter boxes to my shop when they were $17 per in the boxes of (what was it?) 10? 20? I bet I sold about 25 sets to collectors and then popped the rest at near the peak to a major wholesaler. But ..... I would agree that… -
Re: The Great Chase: Counting Down to 100% on Hardest Post-War Set
Thanks for the heads up. I e-mailed Jason but after doing so quickly realized he has the #1 Basic/Master sets for Perry, thus I doubt he will part with it. The thought did prompt me to e-mail other folks on the Registry (with HOF sets for example) who have 1962 Perry PSA 8s. I was previously focused only on the 1962 set… -
Re: 1980s Wax Packs and some CU fun
1981...the year I was married and the year I started collecting again after 13 years of single-living and partying. That's a nice lookin' Yount! The cards in my '81 pack were either badly OC or nicely centered. Here's my pack: 55 Mike Norris (A's P; wax on front -- easily wiped off!) 535 Omar Moreno (Pirates OF) 392 Lance… -
Re: Attention US Mint
The US Mint has 535 “bosses” plus the Treasury Dept and President, all of whom think they are the most important “boss” on earth and all of whom do what they can to bungle the production of coins with piles of regulations. These bosses dictate the collectors’ coins that can be made, and in many instances, the prices and… -
