Lettered Edge Capped Bust Half Dollars from 1807-1836 in order---PCGS 55 ONLY

So many of you fellows enjoyed the earlier thread on PCGS 58 Capped Bust Half Dollars that I decided to start this thread. Every posted coin must meet all conditions listed, not just any one condition:
1) Lettered Edge Capped Bust Half Dollars 1807-1836 only.
2) We start with 1807, and progress on through 1836, showing only one coin for each year.
3) Since this is the PCGS forum, PCGS 55 Busties only.
4) Only TWO coins may be posted in the thread from each CU member.
Exception to the TWO coin maximum per CU member:
If the thread should have a dead time of about 12 hours after the last coin shown, I WILL MAKE THE POST THAT "ANYONE CAN NOW POST THE NEXT YEAR BUSTIE", whether or not they have already posted a coin, or coins. Please wait for me to post for the exception to start.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note:
If you want email notice when there is a posting to this thread:
Make sure you customize your CU forum to send you email notices whenever this thread has a new posting. Click the “customize” button in the upper right section of any CU page. Look nearly all the way down the page until you see this section, and check “No”:
I want my thread subscriptions to be delivered to my private message box instead of by E-mail.
Yes No
You will also need to subscribe to this thread when you post to it, or you can click on the little white page icon with the arrow, the one shown at the very left of the small icons on every post. Otherwise, you will not get the email notices.

NO RESERVING OF MINT YEARS.
Time to have some fun! Keep the comments coming.

Thanks Mozin for starting it. The rules seem fair and clearly stated.
I'm afraid I don't have an 1807 PCGS 55 but I do happen to recall AnkurJ having a beautiful example of an 1807 in 55.
Perhaps he could post it and start off this sure to be excellent thread.
<< <i>Looking forward to this thread.

Probably not...
I'm traveling for a few days so I'll post two now.
The 1808 is an O.108 R3 from the Allgood collection. An earlier die state without the die crack at the upper reverse. Strong luster each side but particularly on the obverse. Gold and pink-violet border surround a silver center, not well captured in these old images.
The 1809 is an O.109a R2. This III-edge has a prominent die break running through AMERICA, particular to the (a) variety. It has nice luster with minimal interruption, and an over all tone of peach/orange with pastels of blue, green, and gold at the rims. Obverse rim devices are nicely bold, with some weakness in Liberty's locks and clasp, a result of changes to the turban head design in 1809. Efforts to improve bust detail were met with metal flow problems. As a result hair is generally poorly detailed as well as eagle's left wing, though this example is perhaps stronger than average.
I didn't propose to change the rules, only to add an extra challenge for those who would like to respond. Nice coins, by the way!
Nice busties Lance, was hoping to post my 1809 O-109, however as the saying goes, if you snooze, you lose
Here's a nice 1810 O-101a PCGS 55 with some pretty toning......
We appear to be flying through the early dates, but I bet we hit a snag when those most interested post their second coins. Be ready!
Keep up the comments so the thread stays near the top.

Gotcha. A variety number increment in a general grade could be a cool thread. One at the XF-AU level, perhaps. Really mix things up.
Splendid 1807, BTW!
edited to add: Dave, I really love that 1810! And the True View looks exceptional.
Lance.
Interesting to see the comparison between Mark's and the True View I think.....

That's a very good idea Lance !
Although it might be nice to do away with the grade requirement altogether, in order to see some of the tough varieties folks will perhaps only have in lower grades...raw as well.
Not to worry, we'll have to create another CBH thread when you return home so that your son can help you post your CBH's.
You have an AMAZING CBH set and I (and I'm sure many other CBH fans) would love to see more of them when you can get around to posting them.
We are now looking for that 1812.
This coin was listed as MS62 in the Bowers & Merena Orlandos Rarieties auction. Enjoy
You.ve been a forum member since 2007??
A little help, Chesspagan!
Another 'first post?' This time from a member who joined in 2006.
!
1814 O-104a PCGS-55
Here is my most valuable PCGS 55 CBH. Bought it as NGC 58 back in 2000.
Anyone have a nice 1816? Bet it is counterfeit.
We are now waiting on the 1817 PCGS 55.

Yes...a 6-year lurk. I am involved in another hobby's Bd of Directors, like the ANA's Board. That has my free time.
I would love to post 1820/19 Curl 2 P-55 ex Roger Solomon, 1819/8 Ex Frederick, 1823 patched, 1827 O-116a (R-5+), 1831 O-114 (R-4) ex Frederick, and 1833 O-106 ex Meyer and Merkin's sale of Overton Dupes.

Hi Mike
Great to have you onboard....don't be a stranger as they say!!!!
Sounds like you like your Bustie ladies!!!
Congrats to mozin for bringing back to life, 2 quality forum members.
edited to add: Locked and loaded with my 1818.
O-108 Halo toned......toned nicely on each side
Nice strike, full stars, no hits....Me love her!
Purchased from Ray at Eye Appealing Coins
<< <i>Love the toning on your 1818 Goldbully
Thanks much....where's your 1817/3?
Who is up for the 1821?
<< <i>Beautiful Busties, but please remember the two coin maximum per member rule. Looks like 1814, 1819, and 1820 all from same member. >>
Sorry, hadn't noticed that and it won't happen again.
Mozin - Here is an idea for a future thread. Some coins aren't worth slabbing at the AG-3 or G-4 level, or even higher ones than that.
Why not take a rare date, like 1815/2 and do a complete grading set...4,6,8,10,12,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50,53,55,58 Would be really cool to have
something like that in once place.
Mike
Sorry, none from me
Ready for someone to post their 1824 PCGS 55.
Another one purchased from Ray at EAC!
GAB is correct....gotta be quick on this thread!!!!!!!!
I wonder if a copper-loving forum member will start a similar thread in the future.
mozin may need to get a copyright on his intellectual property.
Goldbully, that 1824 you posted is one of my favorites, love the look on that one
Perhaps we will do an AU53 CBH thread next......
Great thread everyone, keep the beautiful busties comin'
I'm on the road, and reading is a little erratic, but if need be (I doubt it) I have a '26, '27, '29, and a couple of '34s. Mozin, PM me if necessary.
Wharhorn, so glad you figured out how to post pix! Gorgeous 12/1. Amazing luster.
Lance.
Some nice coins. I am not going to single any out because they are all beautiful.
Looks like there is some collector interest in PCGS AU pieces
I don't have a 26 but I have a 29 if I am online when the time rolls around...and I am quick enough.

I was wondering where you have been, John......hope your 1829 gets posted here!!!

It's that honey-dew list the Mrs. keeps adding to that has been keeping me very busy these past few weekends....
I think I am starting to look forward to going back to work on Mondays.
Not sure I will stay awake long enough to get my 29 in, but if not I will still enjoy looking at this thread many times
over like I did with Mozin's 58 thread.
Wasn't it great kicking off this thread with a nice small stars ?
<< <i>Fantastic busties folks. I blinked and did not get a chance to show my prized 1812 103 p55. Maybe we should start a 55a thread yo let us slow pokes show off our beloved busties too. Thanks Tom for starting the threads as it is sure nice to see all these fine coins. Paul >>
Dang Medman, mozin is pulling out all the 'virgin' forum members with this thread.....Mr. Don Willis should be most impressed!!!
