Anyone have a clue how rare 2 cent clips are?
And how hard it would be to complete a set of them? Maybe not to 1873 since in such small number proofs and all it would be nearly impossible to find one but lets say 1871 ( ~725,000) or 1872 (65,000) How likely can it be done and which years do you feel will be the hardest to find. ( not including the 1867 doubled) Discuss

A SM clip? I have never seen one but will keep my eyes peeled for you.

There is someone trying to sell a raw one on ebay, he's been at it for close to a year. It is genuine but probably overpriced, I remember when it was originally auctioned off (sold by a friend, which is how I know it is real) and it has been marked up significantly.
I think with some luck and searching, you could probably complete a date set of clipped two cent pieces through 1871. Most of the examples I've seen have been dated 1864 or 1865, but I've seen enough other clipped minors (cents, three cent copper and nickels) from the era to believe they exist for other dates.

The coin I referenced above went up again over the weekend. I have no affiliation with that seller.
