This is actually an extremely rare sub-variety...the NGC 58 crossed at grade ! >>

Actually, its even rarer than that. Its an NGC 58 CAC declined to sticker, to a NGC 58 crossed at grade and then CAC accepted.

<< <i>mozin, I'd say cap the 55 thread at 2 per, and then maybe relax that if it stalls out.

EDIT: I'd vote for giving drddm a special exemption, cause I like color! image >>

Thanks CoinJunkie....."color" is my middle name when it comes to CBH's image

<< <i>Wow! Some wonderful Busties posted this morning. Sure is good to see you all having a good time posting on this thread.

Last night Banana suggested maybe we should finish this thread, and then start a PCGS 55 thread.

I wonder if we would really need a "Show only one Bustie per person" requirement. Would we be able to do such a thread, where 30 different people would show their 1807-1836 PCGS 55 CBHs? I am thinking we should stick with asking people to post no more than two Busties. To expect more than 15 of us, to show off our coins, might be too much.

    What do you think? >>

I like the idea. I have a dozen 55's but shouldn't post many. Two is a reasonable limit. Maybe it should be just one, unless the thread gets stalled for a couple of days?

Those are two sweet halves, GB and tydye! Very complementary!

Sad to see this thread end. Maybe it ought to be summarized with an images-only one. "CU's PCGS AU58 CBH's. I volunteer Mozin.

Gee guys, I left for a few hours, and now we are looking for 1835. Busy little beavers you are.

There are many Bust Half Dollar Nuts that would like to contribute, but they simply don't have the ability to photograph or scan their Busties. They certainly have the coins to show.

Anymore thoughts on making the upcoming PCGS 55 1807-1836 CBH thread restricted to only one coin per person? Surely there are 30 CU members with coins that fit the thread, but I wonder how many have the pictures, and also the know-how to post here. I am leaning to starting the thread with restricting to only one coin per person. If I see the thread bogging down too long, I can open only the next needed mint year, to also include anyone want to post a second coin. What do you think?

Another thought for a still future thread, is for PCGS 55 CBHs that formerly were in higher graded NGC holders, AU58 or MS. I have pictures of all of mine in their NGC holders, bet others do also.

Just missed my only other opportunity, I do have a PCGS AU-58 1834, though the one posted is outstanding, looks MS at first glance. Maybe after we finish, we can run a fun little poll for the most favorite half in this thread.

Look forward to the 1835 'cherry on the top' post.....Mr. DW was most accommodating with the PCGS registry at mozin's disposal, however....looks like the regular ole forum folk have quite an inventory of CBH's!!!
NOW, where do we go from here? Capt mozin................you are at the helm!!!! image

I have a '35, but I've already posted two. Unless the thread stalls I'll sit back.

As for slab shots, I don't usually take them. Maybe others do. I move everything to PCGS, and I buy with that in mind. But I don't think an downgrade-cross thread is going to work.

I really hate to shut out some first time posters in this thread, God knows there could be lots of first time posters out there, and many more lookers. Let's wait until 6 AM East Coast Time Thursday April 5, then we open it up to anyone living in this wonderful world, to post their 1835 CBH PCGS 58. Hopefully, someone is anxiously waiting to post their precious 1836 PCGS 58 CBH, to finish this thread. I surely will be tempted to slam in one of my 1836 CBHs PCGS 58, but I will hold back for some time, like when I get my tail out of bed, about 8 AM Pacific time Thursday.

Why is it I have the feeling that many of you fellows are enjoying this thread MORE than I am?

Time to move along? Here's an ex-Jules Reiver, once an NGC-58, crossed cleanly to PCGS. Dark grey and brown with nice surfaces and full luster. Just the barest hint of rub on the obverse only.
