Lettered Edge Capped Bust Half Dollars from 1807-1836 in order---PCGS 58 ONLY

mozinmozin Posts: 8,755 ✭✭✭
All this talk about who is collecting grade AU 58 coins caused me to start this thread. Every posted coin must meet all three conditions listed, not just any one condition:

1) Lettered Edge Capped Bust Half Dollars 1807-1836

2) We start with 1807, and progress on through 1836, showing only one coin for each year.

3) Since this is the PCGS forum, PCGS 58 Busties only.

I don't own an 1807 Capped Bust Half Dollar in PCGS 58, so who can help us out with pictures of such a coin, any marriage? It would be nice to show coins owned by the poster, but we might need to borrow pictures, if we get stuck. This is a no reservation thread. Sorry.

Wow, it might take a while for this thread to get finished but it should be fun to watch.

Great concept, and I would love to contribute, when I can.

We seem to have stalled out. I'll post the AU58 from CoinFacts (which I love!) to try and jump-start the thread.

I think it might be a good idea to announce that you are waiting to post one of the next few dates. Likely, others might give you a chance by not jumping in right away, so maybe you can snatch 1813. Of course others may not want to wait too long to speed up the action.

Tahoe Dale earlier said he has an 1820, and an outstanding 1823 Broken 3 that he would like to post.

Certainly, the action will speed up once we get to 1825, so be ready when your time comes.

I have heard from some PCGS Registry participants that they have been unable to post here, and trying to register for this forum does not work for them. Starting Monday, I hope these collectors will be able to register, and post their coins in this thread.

Don't hesitate to post your owned coins today, but probably best not to borrow other person's pictures for now, considering this registration problem. Thanks to those of you that have posted anything in this thread. I think the interest is there, we just need to work through some bugs.

    Ready for 1813, 20, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30, 31, 32, 33, and 35. But this should be a no-reserve thread.

If someone wants to post their own 1810, I'll be happy to delete the TrueView I posted earlier. I didn't realize
people were waiting to join the forum to post coins here. Thought I was helping out...

The CU forum workers have yet to approve the new applicants, so I will show my 1811. My coins have been scanned, so they don't look nearly as colorful as the 1807 & 1808 posted above by drddm.

Beautiful 1815/2, but I wish it was owned by the poster, rather than a picture borrowed. What I want us to do now, is move on to 1817 next, but allow anyone that owns an 1815/2 PCGS 58 to please post it any time. 1815/2s in PCGS 58 holders are so special, I think this is reasonable.

    On to 1817!!!

I agree, Mozin. If someone else comes up with a 58 15/2 I'll delete that post to keep the thread honest.

I can post my 1818 (ex Bear and others) and I have a nice 1834 I can add too when it's my turn. If the 1818 comes up during the day tomorrow, I'll have to wait until after work to post it.

Here is my 1815/2. I would have posted it right after the 1814, but I could not manage placing the picture into my post. Hope you enjoy seeing it. I see no reason for the earlier posted 1815/2 to be erased.

Coin Junkie: I opened private communication, hopefully You or someone else can help alleviate my computer illiteracy. In response to an earlier question, the PCGS population report says there are 15 1815/2s in PCGS58. Certainly possible that one or more were submitted more than once looking for MS.

Guys, it is time for one of you to show an 1817 CBH PCGS 58 that you own.

I know many of us can post such, but we are waiting for someone to post what might be their only 1817 PCGS 58.

Sorry this took so long guys, I still don't know how to do this. I got my son who is a computer programmer to link these in from my everyman collection. The files were too large to post from the pictures in my computer. My everyman collection is the Bustnut collection. This is an 1817 O.109 which I purchased as an NGC 62 and it crossed as PCGS 58.
