What deduction in grade would be brough about by the small spot in front of Liberty's face?

    What is it about 1939 that as many dimes survived in high grades? It seems that way anyway.

    The 39-D is especially plentiful.

    This is a nice 39-P no bands and the spot does not appear too bad in the pic. It is such a common coin I would not bother slabbing and find a nicer one with out the spot.

    66 no band. might go 67 on a good day, but I wouldn't count on it.

    My eyes find the spot on the reverse field, 9:30ish, more distracting than the spot on the obverse. Fascinating what different people focus on. So, guess it depends which side the grader hones in on...beautiful coin regardless.

    You don't have to have the bands to get the high MS grades...there are MS68's without bands.

    No problem seeing yours in a MS67+ holder. Love those orange peel fields!

    Thanks for your opinions. I felt it would grade MS67 but net MS66 due to the spot. I have no intentions of having it regraded
    by a tpg as I will break it out of its currtent tomb and place it my Mercury Album.
