If you have to ask if coins are "worth collecting again"?, then my reply is no.

The hobby is full of enough folks that want to "cash in" instead of folks who simply want to have a nice collection which they enjoy regardless of "worth".

I had some instances come up that i needed to cash in, did not want to but was a last resort i dreaded taking, what would be a good price to pay for bulk indian head cents

Go for it! Just for fun I put 90% of this together from a wheaties stash, a complete set through 2007. I did have to buy many of the keys and a few proofs.

It was a lot of fun. A nice, inexpensive diversion.

I see you're a fellow digger. How about collecting some of the stuff you always dreamed of diggin' up?

(Within reason- I mean, I can't collect double eagles or Charlotte and Dahlonega gold- but you know what I mean.)

PS- lkeigwin- that's a purty page of pennies, particularly the 1915.

Your posts give me the impression that your heart's not really in it. I hope I'm wrong.

Coin collecting can be a time consuming, and money consuming hobby.

But I find it very rewarding for many reasons...the least of which is potential monetary gain.

What makes you want to collect again?

Go for it but start off slow and take your time so you don't burn out. And above all else have fun!

Not sure what you mean by beneficial??

Many collectors including myself take breaks from the hobby or go >1 year between purchases. You may have been gone a year but the coins are all still there. More now than ever before it is easy to find and purchase rare coins.

collect what you enjoy, invest in what makes money.

If you can do both at the same time you will have fun making money.
