Best way to display ASE set?

I'm working on completing an ASE set, hopefully I will be done by this time next year. What is the favored way of displaying a set like this? They will all be slabbed by one company or another, likely NGC or PCGS. I'm thinking an album would be the easiest way to appreciate the coins? Are there any good albums for slabbed coins? I want something good for safe storage and corrosion resistance as much as display purposes.

Ahhh you beat me to it.
  • Eagle brand albums are a popular choice. They are a bit bulky but nicer than keeping the coins in slab boxes. Many online supply places carry these.

Be careful with public displays. Every repair person, every visitor may see it and take note. Stories might spread about the rich guy with all the silver coins. A lot of thefts are caused by the wrong person knowing about a collection. Many thefts are by so-called friends, many by relatives.

Eagle brand had made albums that could hold slabs, though I do not know if they still make these. Also, you might want to invest in a copper sheet or insert that has copper metal in it so as to possibly reduce the appearance of any toning.

I would be more concerned with the random repair person seeing a large television or some Mac laptops around than an Eagle album on a shelf. Sure, I do not have large stacks of Saints piled up on the coffee table in the living room (and similarly do not have stacks of hundred dollar bills piled up either), but I would not hesitate to have an Eagle album of SAEs on the shelf or items of similar value. Then again, I have a coin rider on my home owner's insurance and can afford to lose said album if it comes down to that.

I also recommend the Eagle album. I may have a couple lying around, if you cannot find any elsewhere.
  • Melt them and commission a Tea set at Tiffany image

You did not say what purpose the display was intended to fulfill. Is it for shows, coin club meetings or personal home display? There are very nice display cases available with felt backing (of different colors). These would be best for shows or club displays and remove them for long term storage at home. Cheers, RickO
  • Put them all together in a sealed container for a few days with some boiled eggs.

Remove and put in airtites. The airtites then can be verically displayed put pushing each one into a base made of play-doh.
  • Thanks for the input all. The purpose would mostly be for me to easily look through my coins when I'm in the mood to just enjoy their beauty. I do like the idea of having many of them in one place, sort of has that 'pile of treasure' feeling going when dealing with PM coins image I'll have to look into that coin rider as the collection gets bigger. I appreciate the awareness tips, I worked for a police department for a few years so I'm pretty up and up on what to do and not to do; I certainly won't be advertising my collection.

Most banks have a fire retardant that is used in the safe deposit room that will accelerate the spotting process for silver eagles.
