I like the gold buffalos. I was watching this 2008 bullion and couldn't believe how high the bidding went.
They must have thought it was W-mint marked.
Wrong Picture for description also.

Yes, it's real. Greenspan made that comment in 1966 or so. He used to be a goldbug when he came on Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser in the early '70s. Then, he got drafted for more "important" work.

Regarding the Gold Buff auction, that seller is engaged in deceptive advertising and should be banned from ebay. Although technically the Gold Buffs are minted at West Point, he is heavily implying that the coin has the rare "W" mintmark, when it does not.

The seller does not seem to focus on coins or bullion. His other items are all over the map. I figure he is just copying his description without a full understanding of what he is selling. As for the bidders, the last two have some low feedback. Could be a clue.

Auction says nothing about a W mintmark. All buffalos are minted at West Point. I'm not sure this is a real sale. --Jerry
