1913-S type 1 Buffalo Nickel with superb color....

This one is well struck with great luster. Yep it's raw for now but I thought I would show it off a bit. Really pretty rainbow color on both sides. Thanks for looking....Joe

That is crazy pretty with awesome colors. What is that coming straight off the nose and is that a die crack from the nostril to the cheek?
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.

Yes it is a die crack and a cool one at that...The 1913-S type 1 is not known for great strikes WITH luster, this one here has both . I have a MS-66 same date with very little luster compared to this one.....Thanks for the comment...
Hoard the keys.
I always thought this was kind of a sleeper date. Low mintage but supposedly many saved, until you need to find one!
Mine has medium to dark old rainbow colors and an excellent strike, but no flash like this one has.
But for <$80 it was good enough for the Whitman album.
<< <i>I like it ..... great color and strike.....are you going to be in Long Bach? Ed >>
I'm way up here in the northern part of the state so the drive is not for me. Maybe one day.... Yes Ed I love the strike on this one also, bold in the center on both sides, kinda rare with the strike & luster.
...BEAUTIFUL!!! truly one of the finest coin designs ever.
And I love the die crack
Congrats, Joe. Wow, for the umpteenth time.

Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.

I bought this one raw and it's still raw. I'll be sending it in one day but in the mean time it sure is fun to image!!

<< <i>That actually is a rainbow unlike most coins described as "rainbow" toned. >>
That gets me too! If a coin has ANY color at ALL they'll list it as a "rainbow" toned coin LOL cracks me up....
Thanks again for all the nice comments on the coin and my imaging. It's a lot easier to mage a pretty coin if ya don't have the plastic in the way. I collect for my enjoyment and I really enjoy imaging my coins in their true light not having to deal with all the reflection. Happy hunting....Joe

I'd have expected nothin' less from you.

You never cease to amaze me with the gorgeous buffalo nickels you are able to find and acquire. How big is your poaching territory? Just your corner of No. Cal.; or do you search electronically all over the country/world?
Regardless of the fine details of your hunting methodology, it clearly works.
You tease and please us here on the forums with pictures of your latests acquisitions, evoking env, jealousy and amazement from all of us at the same time.
If you keep up finding and posting these great nickels, I can only tell you that whenever you are called to the big bourse in the sky there will be a stampede of collectors and dealers trying to convince your heirs to "Sell, Sell Sell".
