1876 CC Seated Half

There's something about this date & mint mark that I really like! This is my 4th example.
If I put a little effort into it, I could start a pretty neat grading set - I grade this one VF-35 with a decent shot at XF-40.
There's still a bit of mint luster hiding under the tarnish.

Edited to add: I like this date as well and have 3 of them. Here's my best two...
<< <i>Nice coin! And an unusual variety as well (errant 8 in the dentils). I agree with your grade (VF35-XF40). >>
Really? You can see that from the photo's? I'll take a closer look, I had no idea.

<< <i>Excellent half! 35/40 Worth XF money >>
Our hosts tend to disfavor dark toning so I doubt it would grade better than VF35 if submitted to PCGS. They might even call it "Genuine-environmental damage", particularly if the obverse rim shows porosity from 12-3 o'clock.
Edited to add: I still think it's a great looking crusty coin regardless of how they might grade it. I have a darkly-toned Lafayette dollar with a touch of rim porosity that I enjoy regardless if it ever makes it into a TPG slab.
And I like the MPD......those are neat.
<< <i>I like the op coin better than the one on ebay.

It's all good. Tasty on both counts!
<< <i>That ebay example is pretty nice... Is the variety not very scarce then? >>
There was a thread on this variety on the LSCC boards. Apparently it is an R4.
