1818 Capped bust quarter:New purchase

Got this at a small show today as part of a trade and wanted some opinions as to the grade and an approx. value. This is my 1st CBQ and the dealer had it marked as simply Fine on the 2X2,but I thought it might be a nice VG 8 or 10. I liked the look and am planning to do a 7070 some day so I will need one of these for type. Thanks for any an all opinions.

Edit to add: I'm in it at $135

Very nice coin for type, although the 7070 doesn't have a hole for the large-sized quarter, it starts quarters with the 1831-37 kind.

VG+ details, very nice surfaces and reverse detail make it fine IMO, then back down to VG+ for a couple marks in front of her face and the wispy newer scratch on the portrait (the curved line above the cap is a die crack)

I'd guess it's worth $150-200?

Dang, there's been a lot of neat coins shown here lately.
This certainly is one of the best for the grade.

I've just been comparing my coin to Pcgs Photograde and I now think it's a VG-10 or maybe even F-12. On a VG-8 the E-pluribus-unum is completely gone.

You must look at the entire coin not just one part of it. A lot of coins have a full LIBERTY but that does not make them a FINE.

This is a very nice VG-8 that is worth more than conventional VG money because of its lack of problems and eye appeal for the grade. Nice old coins like this are in short supply. The Gray Sheet range from VG to Fine is $85 to $125. I'd say this piece is worth about $90 to $100 wholesale.
